I'd really recommend that you ditch MAME32 in favour of Windows commandline MAME.  There is a great guide to using this at www.mameworld.net/easyemu :)

Edit:  BTW, this site refers to my recommended version as 'Mame Win32' in some parts.

Took your advice and got rid of MAME32. I'm using Commandline Mame with MAMEWAH..........

Where do I get the graphics from now?? All the artwork. Its too plain looking for me now :-)

Thanks for the help so far

I have been playing emulated Roms on my xbox for quite a while now. I am going to make a media center pc though, and was going to play them on my tv with that instead since I could play higher end ROMS.

Is there a FAQ or Tutorial out there explaining the difference between DOS Mame and Mame that runs on Windows XP. I want to know the differences and all that. I take it the command line MAME doesnt run on Windows XP?

I could set up the pc to dual boot if i had to.

Steve

Here are the main MAME's:

DOS MAME - will run under pure DOS, and Windows 98 (probably not XP),
Commandline Windows MAME - will run under Win98/ME/2k/XP.  This is the recommended version for Windows
MAME32 - essentially Windows commandline MAME but with a built in GUI.  OK for a desktop but usually not recommended for a cab

But yes, commandline (Windows) MAME will run under XP - in fact, it is the best version to run unless you have a pretty old machine...

www.mameworld.net/easyemu has some good info on all these versions :)
