Mouse\lightgun issue
« on: July 30, 2012, 05:37:42 pm »
I'm in the process of rebuilding my Mame machine, and picked up an Aimtrak. I'm not ready to install it yet, but was going to setup\try the gun games with the mouse. Using Hyperspin as my loader, and the newest version of Mame (command line). The mouse seems to register because when I tab into options, moving the mouse changes what's highlighted. And it will let me select a setting to change using the mouse button. But:
1 - It doesn't move the crosshair. The keyboard does. Input (this game) are:
Lightgun X - Gun 1 X or Mouse X
Lightgun X Dec - Kbd left
Lightgun X Inc - Kdb Right
etc.

2 - In Input (general) I notice that P1 buttons 1-6 are all greyed out. Not sure what that means. I have 'Q' assigned to Button 1, and it won't shoot with it. I reassigned it to 'W' (which is normally my button 2) and it works. I can't assign anything to Mouse 1. It's weird because lets say I double click on Button 1 to assign it, it gives me the cursor (like it's waiting on an input) but if I continue click with the mouse button it doesn't pick it up.

So I'm all screwed up. I tried changing mouse and lightgun to = 1 in the .ini, but not luck. Appreciate any suggestions.

In case it helps anyone out, it wasn't reading my mame.ini. For some reason the inipath keeps getting set to .;ini, not ini which was throwing it off. Not sure why it does that. I remade the ini with -cc, but it still recreates it with .;ini. I just changed it manually.
