Mame speed dropdown
« on: October 27, 2003, 09:39:53 pm »
I was asking myself, why mame is so slow now? it was faster on the past.. i remember :)

Then i maked some simple mortal kombat benchmark:
mame mk -noafs -nothrottle -ftr 10000 -r 1280x1024x32 -refresh 60 -norc -effect none

MAME 0.76 (normal windows command line exe)
Average FPS: 65.477897 (10000 frames)

MAME 0.37 BETA 16 (normal windows command line exe)
Average FPS: 80.348424 (10000 frames)

Well, 65fps is not bad, but in a fight it drops to 17~25 fps, not very playable... and on 0.37 version, it stay 50~53 fps stable, very playable :)

Graphics looks the same, sound sounds the same, why that diference? i saw that on many other games...
