Can't get MAME 144u3 to map analog controls
« on: January 27, 2012, 08:51:32 pm »
Have a MAME problem that's driving me nuts -- In MAME 144u3, I can't get MAME to map analog controls (Dial, Paddle, etc) to a mouse (my trackball or TT2s). My prior versions of MAME 143 and 141 can do this fine.

In MAME 143 and previous, when I hit ENTER to map the control, I spin the spinner and what's supposed to happen is:

Dial Analog    Mouse 5 X
Dial Analog Dec     Kbd Left or Joy 1 Left (default)
Dial Analog Inc     Kbd Right or Joy 1 Right (default)

However in MAME 144u3, same procedure, I get:
Dial Analog    Mouse 2 X or Joy 2 X Axis (didn't change from default)
Dial Analog Dec     Mouse 5 X (greyed out)
Dial Analog Inc     Kbd G (default)

Did something change in MAME 144??? Am I missing something? I did make some changes in mame.ini for CPWizard, but I actually tried the mame.ini from 143 in the 144 folder and that didn't change anything.

No idea what to do. Wait until 145 (which seems to be soon)? Just go back to 143?
