I have a Partner Tech PT-5500 Point of Sale unit that runs a Via Eden 733 processor. It's under powered for most games and I'd like to use it in a project for a bar top. I'm not clear on how the touchscreen physically interfaces with the motherboard so my questions are how does it connect to the mobo and how easy or difficult is it replace the mobo so I can use a better processor?
I can open it up and look but I wanted to see if anyone has any experience with it or insight that may save me some time and/or frustration. I've built a number of PCs so I'm not worried about that aspect. The existing mobo will support a processor up to 1 Ghz and even that will be too little for what I'd like to use it for.
Thanks for any help.
