Hello everyone!
I'm planning a cabinet that will use an LCD TV as its main display. Everything looks good on it running into the TV's PC-input (VGA) but I'm thinking the display being a TV is going to become an issue. I don't really have a way of taking the TV out of standby without opening the back of the cabinet and using the power button since the IR receiver is blocked by the bezel.
Does anyone have a good solution for this, or know of a way to get the tv to wake out of standby when the PC is turned on as a PC monitor would? I was hoping to just have a power switch for my pc and having the TV in standby when the main power is plugged in. I thought about maybe removing the TV's current power button and installing one that I could have accessible from the outside of the cabinet, but I would be shooting myself in the foot if I ever wanted to use the TV again outside of the cabinet. I've looked through the menus on the TV and the closest thing I can find is "input sensing" which just enables you to select an input if anything is plugged into it.
I know this HAS to have been asked before, but I can't for the life of me find any threads regarding the issue. I have a 19" CRT monitor that I had originally planned on using, but it's so small in the cabinet that it looks awkward (based on my sketchup model of the cabinet). I got the TV off of a friend for dirt cheap that upgraded to a larger TV, so I'm hoping to make it work out.
The model of the tv is: (Insignia) NS-26L450A11
Thanks
