MameWah Setup Help, using ArcadeVGA and Jpac
« on: January 09, 2012, 10:18:15 pm »
Hey guys, so I've gotten my Mame arcade cabinet all set up and ready to go using an AGP ArcadeVGA, and a jpac - The PC displays nicely on the Egret arcade machine I bought, and I can manually open and play games through MameUI with no issues, aside from manually changing resolutions on every game.
I wish to use Mamewah with the Mamewah resolutions tool, and I want it to display on start up - Here's the problem though, I've followed the Mamewah instructions to the best of my ability, but I am totally lost on the .INI file part. I know that I need to point the mame .ini file to my MAME.EXE, but I can not find a MAME.EXE in any of the Mame Source or binary downloads. There is simply a MAME file, which I have tried, but pointing to that does not seem to generate a game list through mamewah.

So, long question short, where the heck is the MAME.EXE, and how can I correctly point mamewah in it's direction so I can generate a list, and play games from mamewah? Is there a different download I am missing?

I'm having the same issue with the mamewah res tool, so I imagine once I find out where the .exe is, that should help me with the res tool configuration as well.

Thank you all in advance for the help, it's really frustrating to be so near the end of a 5 year project and be unable to figure out the last few technical details on my own. THANKS!!!!

I solved the issue - I had my mame files and roms in a very long file name - C:\Windows\Documents And Settings\Downloads\MameStuff\Mame
As soon as I created a simple C:\Mame folder and move everything over to that, it worked instantly. Thanks for the forum!
