Rom problem
« on: August 27, 2011, 08:01:03 pm »
I'm running Mame .111 and all of my Roms work fine except DK jr.  No matter which version I run the screen fills with zeros like it's doing some sort of test, then my computer crashes.  It used to work fine, it just started getting like that a few months ago.  That's the only one that does it.  Any suggestions?

Try a new download of the ROM just in case the one your have is corrupt.

I'm not sure if you mean Mame version or DK Jr. version. If it's the latter, try a different Mame version - maybe DK Jr. was buggered in Mame .111. If that doesn't work, I'm guessing that wherever you're getting the rom from has a corrupted copy, so try downloading it from somewhere else.

Both.  I've tried all the different DK Jr roms on 111 and I've tried different Mame versions, too.  It worked for about four or five years, then started acting up.  We got a bunch of rain back in the spring and some water came through the basement walls and got on the computer.  Things on the computer acted funny for a bit, but everything else is working fine, so I don't think it's that.

Hmm, that is quite weird. Did something on your PC/configuration change recently? I'm not sure what kind of change could cause a problem with one specific rom and nothing else though. :-\
