Have you see Storage Wars? I dont know why, but I love that show. The fat white guy ( I think his name is Darrell or something) lives about 2 miles from me.  :lol

Love Storage Wars.  Doesn't seem like Darrell buys lockers anymore.  Too picky.

Yeah I noticed that. They better watch out, they could replace him lol. I like how they do back to back episodes now.

Oh you are just evil! The poor guy is trying to get away from TV, and you are suggesting to him another addictive tv show to get into.  :lol

But yeah, if you like Pawn Stars and American Restoration, then you will probably also like storage wars.

I like Storage Wars better than Pawn Stars, the dudes arent as cheesy. American Pickers isnt bad either, they find some weirdos out in the sticks man Im telling you!

But yeah. Youll love Storage Wars.  ;D
Pictures are overrated anyway.

A lot of people don't know this, but Anime has some of the best TV shows and Movies out there right now.

There are probably more anime shows then live TV shows.

Man. I just cant get into Anime. There was so much freaky ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- that I saw in Japan, maybe it turned me off, but still. Its just so... Goofy. And annoying. I dunno, maybe I havent seen any good ones. The only good one I have ever seen that was watchable was Ninja Sword. Everything else I have seen is just too over the top for me I guess.  :dunno

I get that way about anime too...it's quite often that cliche unbelievable situational humor that I can't handle anymore.  I used to be able to watch it once upon a time, and I know there is really good stuff out there, but I don't like spend my time trying to find out whether it is a well thought out show or if it is some ridiculous story about a guy who somehow ends up enrolled in an all female college. really now? ::)

That said, I love just about everything Studio Ghibli. They have great stuff, gimmick free. I don't even think of it as anime though.

I also love some of the more serous shows like Hellsing. It's probably one of the best vampire shows I have ever seen, and the new remakes are stunning. Very comic book-esque, and plays very well off of Bram Stroker's Dracula.

Hide behind the couch......who the heck let Excel Saga into my Hellsing?   :soapbox:  Overall I'm not sad I watched em.......but they do the one thing I HATE about anime.........let's do hyperbloodfest gore and dismembers.....then big eyed "cute" crap with crap art.   :'(

Anyways, I just finished up the 2nd season of Breaking Bad last night (well, 2am this morning).......liking it quite a bit.  Bryon Cranston rocks, but it was a bit hard at first to not think of Hal from Malcolm in the Middle whenever he was on screen for awhile.   :lol

Watching peep show at the moment, took a while to get used to the first person ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- but worth it. Good show.

The wire is great.  One of the best shows I've ever watched.  It peaks in the fourth season, though, and then season five is total garbage.  You really truly should just stop watching at the end of season four.

The Wire gets my vote too. Don't listen to Shmokes. It's true that Season Five is not great, but it's still ok. Be careful if you look on youtube for quotes (because there's some great quotes). I inadvertently found out more than I'd seen at the time (or so I thought)

After watching all of The Wire only last year, I discovered that 3 of the main actors are from the UK- McNulty, Stringer Bell and Carcetti!

Actually, Idris Elba (Stringer Bell) is in a brilliant UK police drama called Luther, which I think he produces as well. Well worth watching. It's only about 6 episodes so not a huge investment in time

I'm really enjoying the reruns of Arrested Development at the moment in the comedy category.

Anyone else watching Homeland on Showtime?  It's on Sunday nights after Dexter.   So far the first two episodes have been really good.

I just watched the pilot for a show called Misfits and it has a ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- ton of potential. It's about these delinquents doing community service when a strange phenomenon embues them all with super powers. So far it's just standard comic book super hero fare. But their powers are all at least somewhat tied to what they were like before. So, like, the weird kid who's always sort of been invisible to everybody can now turn invisible. And the hot, kind of slutty girl's power is that if anybody touches her skin-to-skin, they have an uncontrollable urge to have sex with her right there on the spot and will rape her if possible. So, like, suddenly not not exactly standard comic book fare anymore.

Anyway, the pilot was really well written and it was all a lot of fun . . . great blend of comedy, drama, and action. Like I said, I've only seen the first episode, but I have high hopes for this one. It's off to a great start.

Edit: Btw, it's a Brit show, so I guess you'll most likely have to torrent it or find some legit streaming/DVD option in the U.S.. But I guess it's prob not on any regular channel unless maybe it airs on BBC.

As someone here claimed that Pillars Of The Earth was supposed to be better than Game Of Thrones I have now seen the former in full. I cannot recommend it to anyone that expect smart writing or gritty fantasy. It was kinda meh.

Homeland is pretty good, not as good as The Wire but about as good as 24's first seasons.

There have been two series shown in the UK and the third starts tonight. I missed the pilot but I've seen most of the subsequent episodes, and based on what I've seen I don't think you'll be disappointed. It's refreshingly original, and surprisingly well written and acted.

That being said, it did take me a couple of episodes to get it. I was initially put off by the deliberately drab inner city locations and the questionable behaviour (to put it mildly) of the main "heroes". But that's basically the whole point. It's about a group of ordinary (and very unheroic) people who just happen to develop superpowers through a quirk of fate.

Oh and there's also quite a lot of gratuitous sex which is always a plus.

Ugly Americans

I love this show it's another cartoon for adults like archer and it has so many pop culture references. You will see a lot of characters from old MST3k movies (Like Ro-man) down to hitchcock the birds it's great.

It's about a guy who's a social worker in NY but we all live with demons (Hell is a tourist spot now) zombies (The main guy has a zombie room mate) koala men, robots etc.

Watch an episode and you will love it  8)

I've been enjoying Person of Interest.

Jim Caviezel's one of my favorite actors.  Too bad he's not in more things.  Michael Emerson is good, too.  He's not the bad guy this time, but he is still secretive and very intelligent, sort of like his character in Lost.  Only slight problem with the show is that there doesn't seem to be much of an encompassing plot holding all the episodes together, except the small subplot that a woman from the local PD is trying to figure out who Caviezel's character is.  That only takes up maybe a minute or two of each episode, though, so it's very minimal and almost non-existent.

2 Broke Girls sucks.  The brunette is the hotter one to me (nicely proportioned, I think), but I watched about 10 minutes of it, and neither one can act very well...or the director can't direct.

AMC has been running ads for a new show called "Hell on Wheels."  It's about the laying of the intercontinential railroad.  It seems to be in a gritter "Deadwood" style though.

It looks really good.  Then again I'm a sucker for a western series... so much so that I actually watched Dr. Quinn (ugh) back in the day.

Oh and about Ugly Americans....

I enjoyed the first season immensely as it had an underlying character-driven sub plot that tied the shows together.  There is a HUGE drop in quality on the second season though as all the characters, Dwayne and Calie in particular, become parodies of themselves.  Also 90% of the sub plot from the first season is completely ignored.

You should still probably watch it though, just for the pigeon men alone.  ;)

I watched about half of the pilot and it was pretty marginal. Does the show improve markedly?

True Blood was actually slightly improved and tightened up this year.

I seriously don't understand how you can watch that show. My wife won't miss an episode and I've tried on multiple occasions to tolerate it just to spend time with her. I can't do it. It's so boring and melodramatic and it has a serious daytime soap opera vibe going on. Can't get into it. Can't stand it.

Well, I can say with absolute certainty that the current season has been the flat out worst of Dexter.  (Guess we can thank Julia Stiles for that)

True Blood was actually slightly improved and tightened up this year.

Last week's episode of Beavis and Butthead was freaking hilarious.

South Park's on another dud year.  I wish they had revisited Lemmiwinks back when the show was still funny.

Damn it. Dexter is me and my girlfriends favorite show. Neither of us have Showtime though, so we have to wait until it comes out on DVD/Netflix. I was thinking of picking up showtime just to see it, but I dunno. Everyone says its good though, and youre the first to say its been the worst, but since all the other seasons were so good, maybe that isnt saying much.

Yeah, they knocked off the fairy crap and started making the story cool again.

Missed Beavis and Butthead damn. Everyone I know said it was awesome.  :'(

best brit show of late i think is Peep Show, just brilliant

I agree. Peep Show is brilliant.

I watched about half of the pilot and it was pretty marginal. Does the show improve markedly?

Yeah but you need to watch pretty much the whole first season. It's worth it though. I didn't like it at first either,  love it now

After watching the first two seasons of Shin Chan over the past couple weeks I have to recommend it.  I have to admit that when they played it on Adult Swim, it was more of a "sure, I'll watch it, it's pretty funny I guess" type of deal.  Now that I've seen them in order and get the running jokes and all of the characters nuances it's definitely in my top ten anime.
If there's bees in the trap I'm catching em
By the thorax and abdomen
And sanding the stingers down to a rough quill
Then I dip em in ink, and I scribble a bit
But if it they wriggle then I tickle em until they hold still
Lemme say it again
In my land of pretend
I use bees as a mf'n pen
