I'm not usually moved by the passing of people I didn't know.

I had a poster of him on my wall growing up.    :-\

Oh, No! Macho Man?  :'(

The man is pure wrestling legend. Love him or hate him, he is a big part of what made wrestling what it is today.

I even had his rap album (but that was mostly for laughs).

 :( Well, this sucks.

Yeah this does suck. I remember watching him on TV when he wrestled Jake the Snake, and Jake's snake Damien (I think that was his name) bit him in the arm while he was tied in the ropes and oh man I was freaked out. I was like 9 years old so shut up.  :lol A sad day indeed. I wonder if the heart attack was from roids, or too many slim jims.  :'(

Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, and Macho Man were the best wrestlers IMO. What a bummer.  :-[
Pictures are overrated anyway.

Funny story. and yes I post a lot of ---That which is odiferous and causeth plants to grow---, but this is true:

So when Jake and Randy were feuding, Vince had this great idea that jake would come out and instead of the usual constrictor, they would have a cobra come out.Vince said that the cobra was defanged, and it would be great if Randy let it bite him.  Randy was like, F#ck no, but eventually caved.  Rumor has it he had a few beers before the match and let the snake actually bite him at the end of the match.  Well, despite Vince's assurances, Randy's arm was three times its normal size in a matter of minute.  Randy made it through okay.  The snake, though, died 3 days later.

I remember the snake incident quite clearly. That just blew my little mind back then.

Randy has always been one of my favorites. Along with Jake Roberts, he was one of the first heels I really enjoyed watching work.

It is a very sad day indeed for wrestling fans.

Who would have ever bet that of those two Roberts would survive longer?

Haha, just watched that footage for the first time in like 20 years.  That snake didn't even break the skin.

Well, tonight I will snap into a Slim Jim in his honor. I think I will be playing a some wrestling vids as well. I'll have to bust out WWF superstars, Wrestlemania for the NES or WCW/NWO Revenge for the 64.

WCW/NWO Revenge for the 64.

Best wrestling video game ever.

Until you end up in a fistfight with someone over the fact that for some reason the analog stick always breaks you out of any pin at any time no matter what.

That game led to more real fights than any game I've ever played. ;D

Great face, heel.  Flyer, brawler, could sell a bump, great on the mic... the absolute best.  Hogan owes his entire career to him.

I actually know what most of the terms are that you guys are talking about! No, Hulk Hogan owes Andre the Giant to his career. I was the only one to realize that Macho Man was in the Spiderman movie as bonesaw when I saw it with my friends.

Stupid ass work filter wont let me see it. It will have to wait until I get home.  :hissy:

I'll never know why people call Hulk Hogan great..................

The only wrestlers I ever liked more then the Macho Man were Mr.Perfect and Rick Rude. Bobby Heanan was the best announcer/color commentator ever.
Its a sad day indeed.

Im on the exact same with what your saying, i always felt that Ric Flair was a way better showman and more charisma.

The list is WWF/E specific.  Flair was only in WWF for a little while compared to his work in NWA/WCW/everywhere else.

Yeah, and Flair's first stint in the WWF was a total flop. They totally botched their chance to do Hogan vs Flair back then.

I think they did exactly what they intended.  They took the best wrestler in the world, known for his work outside WWF, and made him look like a total assclown inferior to Hogan in every way.  Then they discarded him to spend years rebuilding his image.

Dude, that might be my new wallpaper.

I'm gonna miss Macho Man..... it's kinda sad that he hasn't been in the public eye much in the past decade or so...... then again if the alternative is to embarrass yourself in front of the world like Hogan is currently doing then maybe it was best that he laid low.

Back in the late 90's I was in a club in FL with some co-workers and he was there with about 6-7 hotties hovering around him.  One of my coworkers got too drunk and started calling him a <kitty cat> and telling him all that wrestling crap was fake.  Really stupid, drunk boy belligerent stuff.  Anyway, he just kept telling my friend wasn't worth it, and he kept a semi cool head.
This was near closing time, and when the club closed we all filtered in to the parking lot.  My friend kept on with the verbal shenanigans.  Randy came over and looked like he was going to rip this dude's head off.  I just kept pulling my friend away and got him in to the car.  Randy then walked over, shook my hand and said thank you and I apologized for my friend's behavior.  He just said something like "He better watch it.  Somebody's gonna f'ing kill him some day."
Wow.  I haven't thought about that for a while.  That dude's arms were frickin huge.  And he was wearing a bandana.
So this was at a national sales meeting, and the next morning the VP of North American operations, in his opening speech, looked at my friend (there were about 120 of us in the room) and asked if any one had any neat stories to tell about the previous night.  The place erupted in laughter.  How news travels when you're acting like a moron.
Bringing to life a child's imagination.
