Sega Daytone USA twin. broken.
« on: February 10, 2009, 07:08:38 am »
Hello guys.

we recently moved our daytona twin arcade machine, after doing so one of them no longer works.

at first a blue screen appeared with white stripes, and an error message stating "interupt error. halt 15". we turn the machine off/on again, and the same screen appeared, but the error had gone.

We opened both machines below the seats and noticed that on the broken machine LED 10 was on (red) and on the working machine a green LED was on.

we checked the fuses at the power supply, and they work fine.

If anyone have any idea as to what could be wrong, i would very much appriciate your help.

I HATE those machines.  Here's what you (unfortunately) have to do.

Remove the boardset from the game.  Find someplace where you won't be distrubed for a while.  Then, disassemble the whole thing. Keep track of your screws.

Reseat any socketed chips.  You don't have to remove them completely, just a little bit and then push them back in.

Reassemble the same way you took it apart.  Make sure all your connections are good and snug.

While you're at it, vacuum out where the boardset goes.  I bet it's full of dirt.  Do this /before/ you put the board back in.  :)

Replace the board and fire it up.

Hopefully that fixes your problem.  These sets are so problematic, especially after a more.  Too many connections.

Hello again.

We ended up buying a new motherboard, and now we are one step further. Both machines boot up, but hangs with "network checking". Anyone has any idea what could be wrong. we have checked all cables.

One thing though. The machines registers as Master and Slave, which is fine, but both machines says "Car number: 1" Is that of any significance?

Thank you.

Just had similar issue,
Set to NO LINK to Car 1 and CAR 2

Then stuck Network Check, saw Master Slave.

2 optical cables were issue,
RX to TX fixed vs TX to TX :)

Another Post had solution, just incase anyone else checks this thread.
