Final Lap twin sitdown now with Outrun
« on: March 24, 2011, 08:58:33 pm »
I've had a Final Lap twin I picked up last year in my basement arcade.
Everyone's pretty much gotten tired of playing the same old track on Final Lap.  I've had plans to do XBox system linked dual racing cabs for along time, so...   I swapped out the arcade wheels with a pair of Fanatec Speedster 3's & hooked up the original arcade pedals to the Fanatec's wiring (the pots are the same value).  The Xbox's are hacked with bigger Hd's and running UleashX dash.  I put basically all the System Link compatible racing games worth having on the cabinet.

Sorry for crappy cell phone video. I'll take some better pics with lights on later.
I'm especially happy with how well the Speedster 3 wheels came out after I took them apart and made custom mounts for them.  Even though they aren't true force feedback, everyone has been thrilled with how good they feel.  Right down to feeling the wheels slip on the pavement if you turn to hard.
