gameboy logo
« on: December 30, 2010, 01:03:26 pm »
Hi there. I just found my original GameBoy and I want to clean it and do a nice refurb with a custom paint job. My concern is how to replace all of the logo's on the front? They seem way to small to try and make a stencil. And I have no idea where to find one... Is there a cheap, easy way to make clear backed decals?

There is a pretty easy way to paint a Gameboy DMG w/out covering the text, just get some Krylon X Metals Spray Paint. I was considering doing the same to my DMG and was looking around, and I eventually found this article http://8bc.org/forums/viewtopic.php?pid=231468#p231468. I never got around to finding this paint, but I hear it's carried at Wal Mart. Hope that helps.

Thanks. This looks pretty cool. I wanted to paint mine white, I'll see if they have it in this kind of paint. Btw, do you know what DMG stands for in the post?

According to http://maru-chang.com/hard/gb/english.htm#DMG, DMG stands for Dot Matrix Game. People call the original Gameboy the DMG probably because it's easier than saying Gameboy, and having someone go to the trouble of inquiring which Gameboy.
