Paint matching a cabinet?
« on: October 04, 2010, 04:37:31 pm »
So I have a Qbert I am fixing up.. I need to match the yellow paint on the
sides for a couple minor touchups. I hear it is best to match your current
cabinet because of fading and such.

How do you get a sample of the color without causing more damage to the
sides? I definitely dont want to cut out a 1"x1" section. And there isnt any
paint flaking off.

Maybe I should just start with a standard qbert yellow and go from there.
Anyone know the correct color to use?

Since you don't want to remove more of the paint, have you looked at those color swatches they have in paint sections of big box stores?  You could try to get some that look close and haul them home to see if they match.  I took in a 1/4"x1/4" paint chip to their self serve machine and matched it without a problem.
