hyperspin/mame control config issues

okay ive got my machine up and running using hyperspin + mameuif32  games work all fine menus all work fine the only problem is. each time i set the key config for the game it never saves it? when i load mame on its own without the frontend i set the keys and when i escape it prompts me if i want to quit, which i do this then saves the config. but with the hyperspin frontend, when i push escape it just escapes straight back into the hyperspin menu without giving me that exit prompt?  i do apologize if this is hard to understand.  but yeh this issue is frustrating as i want it to save my settings while its being played via hyperspin.

In HyperHQ for your MAME settings, turn off/disable HyperLaunch.
