smash tv controls buggy

Hey all. I got the smash tv controlls configured for my slickstick quad controller from mameroom with a little work. Unfortunately the movement seems to be a little sluggish sometimes on the left p1 stick (the one that controlls your movement). Ex. You push down but nothing happens sometimes. It seems like it maybe requires a little bit of finess on the joysticks. Anyone else noticing this?
