Looking for active or retired military in Orlando
« on: August 01, 2010, 11:16:57 am »
I'm taking my daughter up to Disney World for her 4th birthday.  Tickets are crazy expensive.  I found a great deal on tickets at Shades of Green that lets active or retired members of the military get 4-day tickets for $99 for themselves, friends and family.  I've got quite a few military friends but they are all either overseas or in California or Utah.  In order to take advantage of this deal someone with a military ID has to come to the park and activate the tickets in person.  If you know anyone there's a bottle of nice whiskey in it for them.  Or $100.  Or good karma.   ;D

I live in Miami, but I'm in Orlando now.  Planning to go to Disney on Tuesday (my daughter's birthday).  The problem is, I think that if you get them out-of-state, on a base, for example, they still have to be activated at the park by someone with a military ID.  Otherwise my friends in California would have picked them up for us.

The lawyers trying to cheat the system.  Go figure.   :D

Didja check AAA's prices?  They usually have them for a discount.  What about the FL resident discount?
But wasn't it fun to think you won the lottery, just for a second there???

I get a Florida resident discount for my wife and daughter and me, but my in-laws are visiting from out of state.  and even with the Florida discount I pay WAY more than with a Shades of Green discount.  AAA is useless.  You get like $3 off.  To give you an idea, a regular 4-day ticket is like $245 or so.  It's $99 with Shades of Green.  there are seven of us.  It adds up.

I'll be at Disney Fort Wilderness Campground Friday-Sunday.  I'm a veteran but not retired so can't help you there.  If I see you at the parks I'm going to warn Disney security that you're a lawyer.  They like to keep an eye on you types.  One strategically placed banana peel and the place will be named "Shmokes World".

shmokes World has a really nice ring to it.  I'm gonna have to give this some thought.
