LIMBO!
« on: August 04, 2010, 07:09:09 pm »
Anyone else try Limbo on the XBLA?

It's awesome, simply AWESOME!!!!
If you liked Ico, or Portal, or the Oddworld games you'll love this, It's dark and moody, but inthralling and clever (play it with the lights off) the physics are the best I've ever seen in a side scroller, it's pretty short, I played all the way through in one sitting (too many hours, but I just couldn't put it down)

here is a succinct review from IGN that is spot on

"Videogames are an art form made up of visuals, sound, and a mysterious little something we call gameplay. Limbo is the perfect example of these three crafts working together in harmony to create something astounding. With no text, no dialogue, and no explanation, it manages to communicate circumstance and causality to the player more simply than most games. This 2D puzzle platformer in a film noir style is one of the best games you'll play this year on any platform."

  • Yeah, owning a MAME cab only leads to owning real ones. MAME just isn't good enough. It's a gateway drug.

I'm hoping for a PC release. I saw this the other day on a site and badly want it! I might be getting an Xbox 360 for my birthday in Sept, though, so maybe I can get it then.

Fantastic game.  Some say it's short, it is I guess, but I'd rather play a 5 hour game with this quality than a mediocre 10-15 hour game.  It was that damn good.

Portal was short, and it was nothing short of fantastic!

Short but Awesome and worth the 1200 points :)

Completed it in one sitting as it is one of those "I just want to see what the next bit is, then I'll go to bed" type of games.
Hey Dudes thanks, for rescuing me, lets go for a burger.... HA! HA! HA! HA!

This game is awesome. I finished it in a couple of hours but it sticked with me ever since, like good movies like Shutter Island can :) Keeps me thinking about what happened to the boy and his sister.
I am googling ---my bottom--- off to find articles, forums, artwork whatsoever. Great game.
