Deal of the year!
« on: July 04, 2010, 12:27:31 pm »
Hey guys,

I had refurbished an old cab back a couple years ago and did a very mediocre job due to my then skill level and had to sell it when I moved to California. I did however come across the deal of the year when a buddy called me up told me he saw Run and Gun at a second hand store for only $20. I don't live in the same town but I made sure someone went and picked it up for me. Now I haven't had a chance to even see it yet, but it looks quite complete and my friend said the board is still in there but I don't know if it works.

Initially I wanted to run two separate computers, one for each screen and have one be horizontal, but just looking at the picture, I don't know if the dimensions will work out. Or I'm just thinking turn it into a 4 player cabinet with a street fighter button layout on each side and do a dual display. I'm already salivating at the possibilities but was interested in what ideas others had. Sorry this is the only picture I could get off a cell phone but you get the idea.

if you are thinking about maming/whatever it and not actualy restoring it then you want the project thread.if you look up restore in dictionary you will see that if you get (for example) a donald duck game and you then convert it to a minny mouse one you are not restoring it.
:)

Welcome to the board. I'm sure a mod will move this to Projects section.

You can't link images from your gmail account.

NO MORE!!

I'm trying so hard to resist the temptation to make a sly AOL reference.

Damn... too late.

FYI, I just MAME'd out an old Run N Gun that didn't have the dual screens, but I now have the PCB just sitting around if you decide you need it, we can work something out.  I'm not looking to make a profit on this.
