World of Goo, Aquaria, and Gish are worth this bundle!

Not to mention, pay what you want to go to charity!   :applaud:
$132,455 raised so far, top contributor gave $500.  Yay tax right-offs!

You know if you donate $500 towards something, you don't get $500 back from the government, right?

True, but charitable contributions are a +credit+, not a deduction, as far as I know. That means they directly reduce your tax amount, not your net taxable income. However, I'm not an accountant so I might not have that exactly right.

But generally, I believe charitable contribs reduce your tax amount much more than standard deductions.

Wow! World of Goo is totally addicting! Of course I had heard of it but I fired it up last night and next thing I knew it was 2am.  ;D

Point is, it may reduce your taxable income, but a lot of people seem to have the idea you get it all back. In which case, everyone would donate a million bucks to their favourite charity...

Who are these people? They're complete idiots. I've never heard of anyone thinking that.

I think he's implying that I was saying that, which I wasn't. I figured this statement didn't need a retort, because like Ginsu said, I've never heard of someone thinking that either.
