PS2 to XBOX360 Controller Adapter for less than $10???
« on: February 16, 2010, 08:32:50 pm »
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.33241   $8.42 :dizzy:

I'm ordering one and will report back, but it will probably take sometime as with all of DX stuff. Have you guys used this one before? Like the other expensive one (which you can use mouse and keyboard) you need a wired controller to use it. This one also doubles as a PS2->PS3 adapter as well.

I may have to order 2 so that I can use my two PS2 guitar hero controllers on my 360.

After a little checking, it looks like you need to plug a wired 360 controller into it to get it to work.  Since I don't have any wired 360 controllers, I think I'll pass.

That's what I said it requires a wired controller, just like that other adapter that costs $80. I do have a wired adapter controller somewhere and a $10 x-plorer 360 guitar wooo!

dont all 360 converters require a wired controller? still an awesome deal if it doesnt lag. whoever orders one report back. try random street fighter and see if its lagging or not.

I ordered one. For 8 bucks, why not?

I seriously doubt it works as advertised. I have regular PS/2 controllers, a guitar, and a Cobalt Flux dance pad. I'll test them all when it arrives.

not relevant but I have the ps2 to gamecube adapters and they work great.

me though I want the opposite I want a 360 controller to ps2 adapter.

360 controller on the qube would be so much nicer too if it were possible.

I use the ps2 over the GC controllers on alot of games some games work well with the original controllers while other's just flat out feel weird where the ps2 controllers feel so much better for certain one's.

I am interested to see if there is any lag with that converter, so please report back.  :)

I bought an XCM Cross Fire Adapter to try to connect PS3 controllers to an Xbox360.  It didn't work with PS3 joysticks, so I returned it and paid a huge restocking fee.

Hi, i had two of them, they are working great, but and there is the big problem, you cant use two adaptaters at the same time because they set the controller to player 1, so if you use two adaptaters there is conflict and only the first plugged controller will work.
This is a know problem with those adaptaters.
Btw, there is others cheap ones that i bought who are working really nicely without any lag, they are the blazepro brand and i found mines here: http://www.renchi.com/renchi/Xbox_360_Accessories_PS2_to_Xbox360_converter.htm

and its works great (and both at the same time).

For info my new astro city panel is made with two hacked psx pad so with these adaptaters, i can play with my 360, my dreamcast with others psx->DC adaptaters and mame on pc too with the usb adapters too, i like adaptaters :p)

Well and for sure you need to have wired controller plugin it to make it work

Well the package finally arrived Monday but I haven't had time to check it, I also got a ps2 -> wii classic controller (connects to the wii remote, not the GC port), so I probably will check it out and let you know...

I guess it was completely flawless (other than the fact about being set permanetly on P1). I fired up MVC2 and I was able to pull all kinds of combos with no problems....

I received my adaptor yesterday. My local GameStop doesn't have any corded controllers. I'll have to find one somewhere.

Try Kmart or Walmart, they sometimes sell wired controllers cheap about $25-30. I just used one of my arcade sticks for the 360 and a third party ps2 controller to test it.

I got a wired controller from Be$t Buy. Took it home and eagerly grabbed my PS2 guitar. It didn't work.

Then I plugged in a regular PS2 controller. It seemed to work for basic button presses.

I have not tried my Cobalt Flux yet as I do not have any dancing games for 360 nor can I find any demos.

But I can already give a thumbs down on it from my own perspective just because my red PS2 guitar doesn't work.

When I have time I'll try it on the PS3.

Crap my wireless original Red Octane PS2 guitar won't sync :(

I tried the adaptor on my son's PS3. The regular PS2 controller seems to work okay, but I have not done extensive testing. The guitar controller doesn't work, which is all I really care about.

To sum up, this adaptor is useless for connecting a PS2 red guitar. However, it was not a waste of 8 bucks because I won't have to buy my son another PS3 controller if he wants to play a 2 player game, I can just use the PS2 controller plus the adaptor.

I haven't even tried testing the Cobalt Flux. I guess I can get a dance game for the 360 and/or PS3 that comes with a cheapo dance pad. If the adaptor doesn't work I can build a Cobalt Flux controller box out of the dance pad's guts. This has been done before successfully.
