Artwork Help
« on: February 21, 2010, 06:58:31 pm »
Ok, so this has been asked a million times, But..........

I have no idea on where to start on my artwork, but i have found an image that i want to use as the background, now i just need to resize it, and add buttons, Track ball spaces etc etc

What software is best for this job, Hopefully free as i dont have access to Photoshop

I think what im looking for is something with the button, trackball sizes etc etc already pre programmed

Any help would be fantastic

I was just in the same situation as you a couple weeks ago.
I have a mameroom control panel and I ended up making a template out of someone else's cpo.
So I guess the first question is, what kind of control panel do you have? is it custom?

Yeah, its going to be a one player for a bar top, 55cm x 25cm, using Cosmic Frostbite as a background

I know its been done to death, but i love it

6 player buttons, 1 & 2 player start, Coin Button, plus 3 other buttons, Joystick and trackball

Ok, So i had a friend in the UK manipulate the size of the image for me, and have finally had it printed today, and i must say, it looks fantastic

I know im cheating a bit, but, this is my first build, and its just for a bar top, so im also going to cheat a bit for my button, Joystick and trackball surrounds

What im after is some stand alone, Arrows (for the joystick) Circles etc etc

Im thinking of printing everything out indivually, cutting them out and sticking them on, then under a layer of Plexi no one will know

Can someone maybe help me out with some links ???

I know that its cheating, but i have no access to graphic software, and seriouslly have no idea where to start

Thanks again in advance
