Sonic the hedgehog 4 coming this summer !

Hi guys, Have you heard about sonic the hedgehog 4 ? Its coming out this summer and is a direct sequel to the original 16 bit genesis sonic games.  I cant wait

I love the return to old, but I HATE episodic gaming. I do not want to buy a game, with the knowledge that it is only part of a planned series. Sometimes the series finishes, but often times it doesn't. Even if it does though, there is often a lack of satisfactory ending to the gaming experience.

and yet Im still gonna buy it for 360, this is what I wanted sega to do with the Sonic franchise so I feel the need to support them. I'll still get it on the Wii too though

Read about this yesterday, and from the graphical standpoint, it looks like SEGA is wanting to go with a NSMB-style look with the 2.5d graphics. It's a shame Sonic is the only playable character, but then again, that could be the reason for SEGA wanting to break up the game into episodes - one for Sonic, one for Tails, one for Knuckles, etc. For as much crap as I give SEGA for overloading their Sonic games with excessive superfluous characters, it sure seems empty without them. Also, I wonder how this game is going to stack up to the previous games without Yuji Naka's influence.

Just pick up the Street Fighter IV pads. They are close enough to the Genesis 6 button controllers.

I didn't care for the GBA Sonic games, either.

There are people that love Spinball, but I never liked it.

The first level is easy enough, but then the 2nd level just kicks my arse. Never played it beyond that.

Sonic Adventure on Dreamcast wasn't too bad.  I will probably get Sonic4, but I'm not sure what system I would want it on.

Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 were great. I like them better than the Genesis games, actually.

Agreed.  What's so deep about Sonic that it needed to be split up into episodes?  Unless... someone said, Ep 2 would be Tails, Ep 3 would be Knuckles.   Meh.

But I'm looking forward to it nontheless.  It's been too long without a "proper" Sonic game.

I hope Sonic 4 is going to have a lot of retro tunes based on Sonic 2 for the Game Gear. That Sonic incarnation has absolutely the best game music ever (OK, on par with the Katamari soundtracks).
