Reducing cabinet plans

Does someone here have the capabilities of taking Jacobuds plans and reducing all the measurements by a third (or whatever) or can maybe explain a quick and easy way of doing it?

ok im not all that great with wood, but it seems to me that simply taking the messurements and cutting off 1/3rd when doing the cutting will yield the result your looking for

example if it says the door needs to be 6x3, then make it 4x2..

simple enough or am i barking up the wrong tree here?

Well, I thought of that too. I was just thinking that maybe there was an easier way (like with sketchup or visio) but you're probably right. Just take the measurement, divide by 3, and subtract that number off the total length.

Just multiply every measurement by 2/3.  It's really easy.  I did this to make a mini Ms. Pac-man shaped cabinet (Mine was 80% - 2/3 is really small).  I used Jaokbud's plans too with no major problems.

I kinda figured that out but went about it the long way. Not a math wiz thats for sure. I found a neat little calc program that converts decimal measurements into board feet/inches. Once I got that, converting his measurements was a snap.

My idea was to take the top half of one his cab plans, reduce it down by 1/3, and make a bartop out of it. Like the Moon Patrol or something. If I did it right, it should look about right. It measures pretty much the same as my other bartops. And should be easy to have the artwork made for it. Just reduce it down by 1/3 too.... we'll see.

I would see what reducing the cabinet by a third would give you with regards to the space required for a monitor.

The cabinet size is usually tied into what the size of the monitor is.
A number of the old video cabinets had the board used to fix the monitor to. This board was square so the monitor could be turned dependant on the game used.

Just a thought!

@ ami-man: I need to build me some cardboard mock ups to see how it looks. I'm hoping that old pc monitors will work, tho not as authentic, the price is right
