Software to rename non mame files
« on: December 20, 2007, 08:27:54 pm »
Hello,

Forgive me for asking, I tried to search but had no luck.

Is there a utility that I can use to rename the non-mame games/images to remove the (u)! and other characters so they dont show up in my front end.

Thanks for the help everyone!

there's a few renaming tools.  I haven't used them, but I believe at least one of these will be able to do the trick for ya.

If you use MALA as a frontend then I know you can load your gamelist (ie: list of ROM files) but have the text displayed not include the (u)! (E) (J) stuff ......no need to rename the files, just do not have that part of the ROM name be displayed.  I believe it is very easy to have MALA do this as well.

I think it is in the Mala gamelist application ..... I think there is a button which allows it to strip this stuff out of the displayed lists .....
