MALA MAME BEZEL PROBLEM
« on: December 18, 2006, 06:40:24 pm »
I have searched for this with no success.

I am running mala with mame 107.

I would like to turn ON bezel artwork

I have the bezel artwork in the artwork folder within the mame dir.

I have selected "turn on bezel artwork in mala"

I tried to point mame config (within mala) artwork location to the correct location.

Every time I point mala to the artwork dir it dissapears when i click OK.

In other words I cant get Bezels to work.

What little step have I done wrong?

Do I have to edit mame.ini or other?
If it ain't broke give it to me...i'll soon fix that

I heard a rumour that not all functions of the mame.ini editor feature in MaLa work with the latest versions of mame

So yes try editing mame.ini in notpad

(The following lines are in diffrent sections, so you need to hunt for them

eg
artpath                   artwork
use_bezels                1

Note:
artpath                   artwork (means a subfolder of your mame directory which is default)
If the artpath is something else it may be safer to give it a complete path

eg:
artpath                   c:\loadman\artwork

Thanks

I should probably just have gone straight to the horses mouth (or is it wombats butt?)

Tried that and it is all set out right....  ( I am using the same config as on the mala dvd u gave me)

I have messed with many settings since then

Still I cant get it to show bezels.  Do I need to alter hardware stretch or anything like that?
Do the bezel files need to be zipped or unzipped (to make sure i tried both ways)

hmmm  will keep messin with it
If it ain't broke give it to me...i'll soon fix that

Yeah play around...

Maybee copy mame into another dir and use that to play around try an earlier mame version to see if that works...  I'm sure you will get it.. do a search on the issue

I don't use bezels but I did play with them years ago and they did work

Good luck
