« on: March 30, 2004, 06:53:47 pm »
Hey Everyone...

I was wonderin if there is a possible way to take guns off a area 51 arcade machine and used then in a MAME cabinet...I am new to all this stuff and i want a pair of guns to go with my Cabinet but don't know how to hock them up or which ones to buy...i was either gonna take guns from a console like x-box or buy some area 51 guns to put on my arcade machine...does anyone have any idea's of what i can do and how i can hock them up....thanks

Interfacing arcade or console lightguns to a PC is something that gets brought up on this message board a lot, but so far nobody has figured out how to do it.

I think that what you are after is one of the PC light guns - there are a few different options that have been made available recently and each of them have their advantages and disadvantages (accuracy, ugliness, etc.).

I put a little chart on my web site which tries to describe which guns allow you to use multiple lightguns for 2 player+ games:

Also check out KevSteele's review of the different PC light guns:
