Master Volume always at -20dB

Hi everyone,

I'm having this issue with GroovyMAME 0.167 (possibly with mame as well): the Master Volume in every game is always at -20dB instead of 0dB.

In my mame.ini file I have

volume 0

But it doesn't seem to do anything.
I've tried putting it at 10, +10, -10 and didn't change anything.

I don't want to raise the volume everytime to 0dB (as it seems that MAME doesn't remember the last volume setting for that game), is there any way to fix this?

MAME saves only speaker values under sliders controls menu, it never saves master volume even if you enable option write config. The only way is to manually put desired value into ini for each game/source. Try delete all inis and start configuring again.

Actually, I just want to set a standard value for all games to put the Master Volume at 0dB.

I thought this was done through the "volume" parameter into the mame.ini files, but changing it didn't have any effect.

This is a brand new ini file, I can generate another but that won't change anything.

Found the issue!!

It was my frontend, mGalaxy, which, for some reason, automatically set the master volume at -20dB.
I corrected the option and now everything is working as intended!
