Inter-connectivity of Different Vendors?
« on: August 12, 2015, 05:01:54 pm »
So many different vendors! So many choices!

No one vendor (Ultimarc, Groovy Game Gear, Twisted Quarter) has all the things that I want color-wise.  I want to do a black base for the sticks with (ideally) purple buttons, joysticks, spinner knob and trackball, and if I get really ambitious, purple t-molding as well.

How hard is it to pick and choose between vendors of this stuff?  I see they all SEEM to use the same microswitches in the pictures, but I do now that pics sometimes lie :P   Like, one site has the purple buttons but they are flat and I want curved, only one site has black player start buttons, etc....

I have to pick a control board yet too, that may also hinge on the answers to this ... it's so confusing!

Thanks!

The all have their niche.

I have ordered from and been satisfied by everyone you mentioned with the exception of Andy, but plenty of people do the Ultimarc thing and he is legit.

The trick is planning for everything you'll need so you can reduce the need to order multiple shipments from any one vendor.  Shipping does add up.
