This is my thread, so I can bump it if I want to. As of 2022, besides having an actual Triforce arcade unit, there a way to get force feedback in the 3 Triforce racing games? Whether it be on Wii or Wii U via Nintendont, or some form of Dolphin on PC?
Its hard finding info online, as usually everyone mentions F-Zero GX (the GameCube game). This is all I've tested:
Official GameCube Logitech Speed Force wheel. Works great for F-Zero GX (not AX) on GameCube or Wii (with GameCube ports) natively. Also via Nintendont on Wii. Force Feedback, the whole nine yards. Works with or without the pedal attachment. Of course, again, with the Triforce game, F-Zero AX, the wheel is not detected at all. Same when trying to play GX with the wheel on Wii U Nintendont. Since the Wii U doesn't have GameCube ports, and the wheel has special protocols, the wheel is not detected via the GameCube to Wii U adapter (on ANY games). Other wheels, such as the Madcatz MC2 (and I assume any other non-Logitech wheel), work on GX, AX and Ml GP 1 and 2. The other wheels are detected as a controller, so they work fine, but have no force feedback.
I'm thinking of getting a Logitech PS3 wheel. I think they are emulated as a GameCube wheel on Dolphin on PC for F-Zero GX (and I assume the other 20-ish supported GC games), but I can't find any info about the Triforce driving games.
I know Triforce games are not officially supported in Dolphin for some reason, but there should be a way to have them properly playable on Wii at least, right? Since it's basically the same hardware as the Triforce arcade unit. Why hasn't some programmer (not me!) found a way to have these 3 games play exactly as they do in the arcade (minus the camera and paper cards I suppose), on the Wii? It should be doable. Force Feedback, memory card with transferring of data between AX and GX supported. If using a USB wheel, up and down for GX/AX can be mapped to the shifter.
