Hi mate firstly welcome to our forum. Secondly I'm guessing that old style reader doesn't work within team challenge? Also the new card readers are very hard to find can be bought off the global VR website but very pricey. It's also on Boosts to do list to make it so any reader and any card can be used. However his list of things to do are very large and even though he seems like a god to us it might take some time to accomplish!

Would you mind pointing me in that direction?  I don't recall seeing directions on how to add the photos, only how to change players.  In the meantime, I'll start rereading the thread.

Unlocked wrist band
Red Mountain Creek
Hole 10
Eagle or better

Got called to dinner and because i left game goinf and didnt exit, it didnt save.

As for adding photos, search hdd for player photo and will have four for each player. Rename to playet you substituted for on the list. Pics will be listed as GS_torso or something this effect. I belive they are on the great shots folder when i was looking today.

Thanks Jason, that gave me enough info to make the change.  I looked through all 35 pages of this thread and didn't find info on how to add the images. so here's a quick tutorial for others.

Start with the same process of letting the game boot all the way to the attract screen, then press the windows button.

Navigate to the c: drive

Then PGA_Tour_2006 folder

Then Shell

Then Images

Then GolferSelect

Within the GolferSelect folder you will see four images for each of the golfers on the select screen.  Find the golfer that you replaced, ie: Tiffany Williamson was replaced in my game with Tiger Woods.  Drop the new Tiger Woods images into the folder.  You need to copy the file name from the replaced golfer (Tiffany Williamson), delete that file, then paste the copied name into the name of the new file (Tiger Woods).  Do this for each of the files.  Gist of it is, old files names need to be used with the new files.

Thanks Spitfire for the images.  I'm tempted to replaced all of my images now.

Yes exactly as Ed explained above just make sure my image file names replace the old player image files and the names are exactly as they were for that old player image file.

In effort to help spitfire with his leaderboard issues i just shotgunned new code onto the server to store the cabinet event logs.  It's either gonna work perfectly, or cause call in issues.  Anyone taking bets??  Spit can you call in please?

Well, server didnt save the log.  I have a parsing or database error in the code.  Best thing for me to do is debug it using the dev machine and upload good code tomorrow night.  Sorry spit, one more night.

The server changes were not meant to supply a fix to your 4001 issue.  The changes brought log storage so i can see what your machine is upset about.  Now i should be able to analyze the logs and determine issue.  Next server update will hopefully supply the fix.

Just looked at logs and your machine is timing out while waiting for the leaderboard data to arrive at your machine.  This makes sense as it is a large chunk of data and you are further away physically from the server.  Its only because you have nothing in the table and need all of the data that this is occuring.  Once you get the data you only need the changes on following call ins.

I'm going to modify the server code to only supply a maximum number of entries.  Lets try 1/2 of the current leaderboard entries.  This means to get all of the boards you will need to call in twice.  This should get you back in action.  After your initial call in of twice you will fetch only changes.

I'll code this up today, test it out, install on server tonight.

Well Spit, I have some bad news.  I tested a version of the server that breaks the transfer up into two chunks.  There is a problem.  The cabinet throws away all of the leaderboard data when a new set is sent to it.  So for example if there is a total of 1500 entries.  I can send the first 1000 and it is stored on the cabinet.  When I call in again and send the remaining 500, the cabinet throws away the first 1000.  All hope is not lost yet.  There must be a timeout value stored somewhere or something I can do to increase the amount of time your machine will wait before timing out.  Not sure how long it will take for me to find a solution, but i'll find one.

Wait, I already know what the problem is.  I am sending too much data to each machine.  Each course can only display 30 entries.  I am sending more than that per course.  I thought the machine would hold onto the data and not purge it per transaction.  Now that I know the machine throws away the data I will just send the top 30 per course which will cut down the data size by almost 2/3.  That should get you back.  Coding it up now!

Are the leaderboards only displayed at the start of every course or are they displayed after every hole along with your past score up to each hole? If it is the later than all the additional data may be needed?? And I thought just increasing the timing out number per machine would be the way to go however you are the expert not me ha ha :dizzy:
Also why does it complete to 100% if it is timing out??

AFAIK the leaderboards are only displayed at the beginning of each hole.  As far as your personal play per hole that is stored locally on the machine.  You see 100% and then error because at 67% the leaderboards are being packaged up and sent to you.  Because there are so many entries the time to package them and get them completely sent to you was too long and generated a timeout for that section.  The machine won't abort immediately.  It marks a 4001 failure and continues trying to do the rest of it's job which completes at 100%.  Instead of being greeted with success you are slapped with the 4001 error.  I just finished testing my changes and it knocked the amount of data to process and transmit down over 1/2.  Plus I found and extra step I was doing at 53% that tripled the amount of time I was spending there.  All fixed and ready to hit the server when I get home in about an hour.  Will let you know when it's time to check in.

The overall leaderboard for the course is only displayed when you begin your round.

There is a leaderboard that pops up between holes, but that just shows your scores.

I checked the database and saw you triggered a leaderboard generation.  So please call in again when you can.  If you still cannot see the boards then that means the region number i am using for AU region is not correct.  That might have to be a trial and error thing till we figure it out.  At least you are back on WT.

Can others call in and verify their boards look proper please?

This is going to be a trial and error thing.  First please make sure your dongle says AU for me.  Next i will just keep changing the region number until we find the right one.  Should be between one and five.  I just loaded the server with a new number.  Please call in when you can.

Yep dongle says AU on it and in the settings it says region AU. Gonna call in soon and will report back. Boost we really need to make these leaderboards accessible world wide as don't want this to happen to someone else from another country. Any chance of this being possible?

Just called in still no good. Always before leaderboards are displayed a little glitch happens on screen then displays unpopulated leaderboards! Ummm
