Hi Dan
btw gobal did not really drop there support
what went on was ea sports sued and won a 400mil law suit against
gobal
even though there was an agremet in place for name usage
ea wanted to go on there own ?
so they :ea: fourced gobal to shut down there servers
and stop using the trade mark gobal/vr
once the peeing contest is over u will have to dif companys now
if u ask how i know it is easy
i was signed to a nda with gobal/ea sports
i recieved the order to stop work on the ea side
this is the hercules moudle and a few other modules used in the game

The installs I have done on a couple Dell towers did not have any stutter during attract mode or game play which is nice.

Hi there.  Sorry for the hijack here but I saw the work you've done and was wondering how to get ahold of you to buy one of the machines you've built.  My name is Dan Reid and I was the PGA Tour Championship National champion.  They put me all over the machine ads and gave me my own player.  I had a machine but when Global shut down their support of the machines, I gave my machine to a local vendor.  Anyway, I'd be interested in buying one to have in my new house.

Looks like you've done some incredible work!

Does anyone have a Team Challenge rescue CD that they could share with me?  Mine isn't working and I can't find my spare (been looking!).  Thanks in advance, guys.

Thanks.  I spoke with someone a couple days ago that ordered the rescue and install CDs from directly from Global VR but Global VR then cancelled the order before shipping.  It doesn't sound like they sell them any longer.

I appreciate your willingness to help but I'm thinking someone here in the US may have one.  lilshawn helped me on this before but I had a problem with his rescue for some reason.  If someone has one Challenge or Team Challenge rescue CD in iso format I would appreciate if you would be willing to upload it to Dropbox as I simply don't have any other way to get another copy.

Also, I do have several install CDs and dongles for different versions (except Team Challenge and All Access) so if you have a game that's missing a dongle or if you need some install CDs let me know and I'm sure I can help you.

I've got some original CDs here.

It's been quite a long time since I did anything with iso's. I'm sure I'll need burning software.

If you can write up a quick step-by-step tutorial in copying these CDs, I can do it for you.

  • I want to build my own arcade controls!
Re: PGA Tour Golf by Global VR & EA Sports Owners Thread
« Reply #451 on: February 13, 2014, 05:45:33 pm »
Hi Guys,

Firstly Id like to say that Im super excited!!! that I found this forum. ;D ;D ;D

I currently own 4 cabs with all access on them in South Africa and currently trying to build my fifth one.
Please bare with me if I ask anything that has been discussed already and please note that Im not a computer genius but have learned some stuff along the way.

I read that there was some work being done on a dongle free PC has this been achieved as we are all well aware that the parallel ports are becoming very scarce. I have tried going the parallel card route but I could not load the all access disk, however the game functioned perfectly without Aa.

How are you loading your software when there are no IDE ports on a specific mobo. My work around was to load the OS on another PC then plug the HD in the new mobo and it worked perfectly. My current build is not working to well I tried doing the same as there are no IDE ports but I get BSOD!
My guess is that the OS needs/wants to be loaded with the new mobo but my issue is IDE. When I try going the DVD ROM route I get the following message "No valid CDROM device drivers selected"  :banghead: What is your work around?

I read about going the Tiger Woods 2006 route, will the current nitric card work? and has this been a success.

And finally ;) what is your current situation with nitric cards, are you guys able to get?
Ive managed to have a guy build them in SA  :o all the controls work the only thing that needs to be tweaked is the trackball speed as it does not feel the same as the original.

Once again, Im happy to be here and bare with me wrt pc knowledge.

looking forward to your responses.

Regards
J

set your mobo bios to boot a usb and or as your first boot device
make sure u have a bootable usb stick, load the progie's u want through it.
why u do not have an ide is beyound me ?

stpcore the dll pkg will not rev u all the way to sp3
u would need a boat load of oxc's/and root installer's
go through the pkg and find any dll that refer's to your problem
place it in system32
and system
u may be needing a oxc file?
i will look

ok the good news is u do not need a oxc file
now it should have not have reved u,but rather made it sp3 ready
in short your lan should now detect,as should a few other thing's i never touched on.
if u olny want original .dll's i can dropbox them..but i do not think this
is nessary..
to go into a few details about sp3 reving
u would need an active-x file
then u would need dot.net framework 3.5/4/4.1>sp3< style
plus a few other gibbles and bit's.
as these machines run on an older style of server. dot.net framework 1.1
and it is locked, that would need to be over written, thus voiding any lic. to it
hence the reason i held back a rather large chunk of that code
which i can support.
now it may bark and biatch about this that and the other thing,
this is easy, tell it no,or allow it,either way u olny put in a set of dll's that will make it sp3 ready,i tore the other crap out so it will not go..

Hi Ed,

Ive tried making a bootable USB, but when I boot the pc with the USB inserted the pc freezes in the boot up.  :banghead: I assume that I did did something wrong when making it a bootable USB. Ill try downloading different bootable software and give it another shot.
Have you successfully loaded a PGA pc with a bootable USB? If so, what software did you use to make the USB a bootable one, please send me the download link for the software.

Wrt IDE, my current pc's all have IDE but the newer mobo's dont have them anymore, I prefer to use newer hardware as its way more reliable. Im trying to build my next one which doesnt have IDE.

I received a PM from "The-O" I cannot reply for some reason, Ive asked admin to assist.
Please pm me your email address so that we can chat in the meantime.

Thanks in advance guys.

Does anyone know if a wiki exists for this yet?

If not, we should write one.

I know I am VERY confused when I read this post from start to finish.

I've got 3 machines, none of which will boot or play a game.

Having info laid out in an organized fashion would probably eliminate most of the questions posted here.

Has anyone added a Sata PCI controller card so they can run an SSD? I've cloned my old Hard drive and dropped in the sata pci card, but it's not starting up... I think I need to change the BIOS settings any help would be much appreciated.

I'm getting the following message:

For Realtek RTL(R/B/C)/RTL8130 PCI FAst Ethernet....
PXE_E61: Media test failure, check cable
PXE-MOF: Exiting PXE Rom.
INSERT BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER

I Have the NB32-SL Motherboard by DFI and I'm running PGA Team Challenge.

I have a pga team challenge unit in my possession that I said I would fix for a friend and the hard drive is shot and I have replaced it, problem is he has no disks to reload the o/s and software,http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/Smileys/default/banghead.gif .. I have the machine, dongle etc and thought I would be able to download some iso's from the manufacturer's website... as you probably know.. you cant so I was wondering if you or anyone on here could help me with some iso's that I could download.. it is pga team challenge 2006, any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance... Richard...

I have a PGA TC machine. The motherboard on the original machine is kinda hosed (it doesn't hold CMOS settings), so I've been trying to build a replacement machine. I got a Dell Optiplex GX 280. I've mirrored the ECP settings exactly (0378h, DMA 3) and the WinXPE driver/resource settings on the ECP are exactly the same as well, but I can't get the dongle to be seen on the new PC. It only seems to work with the original PC. I'm kinda stumped. I'm also a little surprised nobody has been able to bypass the dongle yet.

as for the bios that is a batt problem
as for the dongle there is a work around :not realsed to the public: for :legal reason's:

Use hasp2007xl to get dongle key. Then load onto your computer from same program.  Not sure if the key works on multiple drive or just the drive it was taken from.  My pga cab booting with dongle for past week.

The I/O card is plugged in, powered and USB connected to an onboard motherboard USB port. Not sure what other possibilities there would be.

Not sure what you mean by this. It's an onboard parallel port.

as for the bios that is a batt problem

I replaced the battery and still no go.

Use hasp2007xl to get dongle key. Then load onto your computer from same program.  Not sure if the key works on multiple drive or just the drive it was taken from.  My pga cab booting with dongle for past week.

Jason

Thanks for the lead!

Doh. My problem was the Hasp 4 driver wasn't installed by the restore CDs. I downloaded the driver from Aladdin, installed it with the parallel option and the game works now perfectly on the Optiplex 280 with GeForce 6600!  Nice and smooth!

it's just a standard ATX power supply. a new power supply will have SATA power connectors....it's all the wires you need, just cut one sata connector off the new supply and wire on the extra plug neded for the pga board (6 pin)

hack off the 6 pin connector and wire it to the new supply. (just extra 3.3 and 5 volt and ground connections.) match same color to same color (orange to orange, red to red and black to black.)

Crashes at gameface

My Team challenge machine keeps crashing at game face when I select a golfer to start editing. I have cards and the card reader works. Anyone else have a problem like this?

Hi Dirt can't  believe that Ed never returned ur PGA machine?? That's just not right. Hey Ed send dirt his machine back n if it's a security issue or something send it to me in Oz n I'll send it on to him.
Regarding your power supply any old atx power supply will do a job mate.

What has most likely happened is that for one reason or another customs has kept it. By default if a package is undeliverable (customs restrictions or otherwise) it's just abandoned, not returned to sender or anybody contacted regarding the package. There is a special customs form you have to fill out before sending to have the package returned back to you if it's undeliverable (at the senders expense of course).

The post is a bag of ---Deutsche Frankfurters---. They could care less about the items you've entrusted to them.

Just recently, I had internationally sent an item back in June. They charged an exorbitant amount of money to send the item with tracking... I had contacted the postal company and submitted a ticket to find out what happened to it several weeks later. "oh yeah we should have this sorted out by october"  :banghead: then had the gaul to have it take nearly 6 weeks to get there.

Anyone here have and/or used anark media before?  The menu's for the game (i.e. playes/course/driving range) are all built using anark.  On Team Challenge there is a Anark Media viewer which you could use to look at each menu indiviually.  I ask because the images for selecting players is encoded with anark and cant be changed with just a simple name change to file.  I have been able to load additional .plr files from Tiger Woods PC (2005) for different Players and looks.  I am looking to create a custom menu and remove and then add players that I would rather use.  The additional images of player(s) is just a simple add via photoshop or alike program.
Also has anyone able to read .stn file correctly? Can look with note++ and another text editor but still has some garbled lines.  STN controlls what sounds are played and when.  I believe the course in Team Challenge All Access is turned off as PC version has a cmd line that you type in for no initial commentary.

Thanks
Jason
