Happ Coin Door Help
« on: October 04, 2009, 11:33:21 pm »
Hi Guys,

I need some help with my new Happ coin door. I bought it off ebay brand new...it has the coin mechs...but I just noticed when I tried to insert a quarter that the slot where the coin goes is blocked...there is a black piece inside (on both slots on this door) that keeps you from inserting a coin.

Is this normal for a new door and if so how do I remove this thing?

I attached some crappy pics from my iPhone incase they might help...

That should be a slotted guide. Probably scooted out of place in shipping.

Would I need to remove the mech assembly to fix it, or do I need to stick something in the slot to move it over?

I went ahead and started pulling screws, which was a real ---smurfette---, from the reject button assembly. The screws on the back of this thing are awful...two have a phillips head, and two don't. The two that don't have a socket type head but it's tiny...no socket I have ever seen would fit those. I had to use pliers to turn them and get them out.

After I got that assembly off, I found that there was a plastic piece blocking the coin slot. I did some searching and it looks like this piece is what goes on the dummy doors when people order Happ coin doors without the mechs (when using the door for cosmetics only).

I pulled these pieces out and everything seems to function fine, the coin goes into the slot and comes out of the mech at the bottom.

Those screw heads are 3/16" socket.
