Buddy needs his Tempest cab Shopped...?? Anyone?
« on: September 14, 2004, 11:52:15 am »
Got a phonecall from a friend of mine, who tells me about how he went to see this guy about a used car....

...and instead, wound up coming home with a Tempest Upright.  Working.

For Free...

 :o

I haven't seen it, dont know if its dedicated (probably is), what condition its in, but he did say that the monitor is a little flaky...and that sometimes it doesn't boot right.....and that the monitor might not be as sharp as it once was.   Knowing not much about this stuff, but knowing that Atari Vector Monitors aren't exactly dropping off the trees, he asked if I could find out if anyone here in CONNECTICUT or the surround areas shopped these units....??

Anyone got a lead?  I'm sure he probably just wants it cleaned up and repaired to as good as he can get it without replacing the monitor.  Considering its free, I may have to go up there and break it just on principle alone :)

Email me if you can, I can forward on info.....

Thanks guys

Guy calls himself 'thrushguy' on RGVAC could likely help you.  Not sure how much he'd charge for something like that, though.

If he/you are proficient at soldering, you could do the cap kit yourself.
