Title: How do you mount your glass or plexi screen guard?
Post by: iscariot on June 08, 2009, 03:07:44 pm
My cab is almost done. I'm going to mount the plexiglass soon. Does anyone have advice on how to do it?

Use the buttons to hold it. You typically won't need anything more than that.

I think he's talking about the glass over the monitor.  I'd use a slot cutter to route a groove for the glass to sit in at the bottom.  I'd use small cleats to support it on the sides and I'd make the glass a little long on top and tuck it behind the panel that is underneath the marquee (typically the speaker panel).

i used four metal corner braces that i picked up at a hardware store.  mounted them on the sides of the cabinet, and the plexi just rests on them.  there is a small strip of wood at the bottom for it to sit on. i cut the plexi so that it just fits snug between the sides of the cabinet, friction holds it in place.
