Title: Cheats wont work in mame UI Version 128

Anyone know why the cheats wont work in mame UI v.128.  I have the cheat dat file and selected enable game cheats in the micellaneous tab. Thanks

I'm sure it's been stated before, but I'll say it again.
Beginning in 0.127 - MAME switched to a different format for cheats - XML files.  You can get the master pack still at Pugsy's Cheat Forum, here:
http://cheat.retrogames.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3110

Simply download and leave the CHEAT.ZIP contained therein in the same folder as MAME.  Using the -cheat trigger as before will allow you to select cheats like before via the menu.

I did it and it worked fine. I think you need to unzip the first zip file. In there is a read me, another text file and a zip file. Put that zip file (like he said, don't open it) in your mame folder. I use command line, but you probably just have to navigate to that folder in the GUI.

awesome. I'm a noob so it's good to fix something since I've been asking everyone else to fix mine. I wasn't expecting the zip in the zip, either, and it had me stumped at first.
