Today, I felt like checking to see if there was any new progress on the Tekken 3
series.
I downloaded mameUIFX32 128u3.
A few versions dont dis/play right at all. However, the ones that do have music and
sound that is too low of pitch. It seems slow...
I tried to overclock the two different CPUs to see if that would work... but I dont have
enough horsepower to know it it would work... cause I started to drop frames.
However, I then used the option to adjust the frames displayed. Changed from
60fps to 30. The sound was nearly arcade perfect ;D
This only seemed to work on version E1 roms.
Now, In my arcade days, I used to go into this game, and set it to "interlace" to get higher resolution mode. However, mame will not let you access that setting in the
operator options. Why?
Anyways... that is how I figures out the sound issue.
I figured that if the game ran interlace mode... it may have been running at a higher
framerate. While that does not have to be the case... it just might be so in this
game/boardset. A means to keep cost down by giving the option of extra crisp graphics
without the extra processor power needed. Quite brilliant actually.
I wonder if the Devs have realized this or not? Maybe this info is out there for this
trick.. and I just was too lazy to find it out. Happy fightin. :)

Might mention it at Mameworld.

What is a good play station 1 emulator? Also, how do you map for 8 buttons? (I think the controller had 8 buttons).

I'm using pSX, and it runs great! And if you're using it to play Tekken, you really shouldn't have to map more than 5 buttons (including start).

You should also map the 2 shoulder (L + R) buttons as well. I map 6 buttons per player plus 2 starts to player 1 and 2 buttons, and two selects to my cab control buttons i.e. pause and UI control.

I'm really liking pSX so far. It does run great. Been using it about a month in my cab without a single complaint.

Right, forgot about the selects, but you don't need the separate L and R shoulder buttons for Playstation's Tekken, do you? (of course, if you're playing other PS games on the cab, I suppose that's a moot point). Just curious if I'm missing out on something.

Agreed. NullDC is awesome and there are a lot of great arcade ports available for the Dreamcast.

I have, but the PC in my cab won't run it. My main computer runs it great, though.

I downloaded the latest version but I get an error sayingg cant find dill.dl or something like that - any suggestions?
-
Or you could buy the board >:D I did for Tekken 2, 3, Tag & 4  Tekken 3 cost me something like $50.00
-
How easy is NullDC to setup in a cab? Are the keys similarly mapped as MAME? Will I have to remap anything with a JPAC?
-
It is strait up simple.
Go download or rip your dc games
Get the dreamcast boot and flash bin files
Configure your controls / display settings
Set up your memory cards
Point maximus arcade or whatever front end you use and blamo
Lemmie know if you need anything ;)

You may want to download the older version and install the newer one on top of that. I have had a similar problem in an older version. You may also need to get your directx rutimes and copy them into the cfg folder.
