Title: Commandline to light LED buttons? Does LEDBlinky support this?
Post by: Fat-Johnny on September 22, 2008, 04:13:04 pm
I currently have my whole panel with LED buttons (GroovyGameGear’s RGB boards under GGG's Electric Ice buttons) driven by three GGG LED Wiz’s.  Basically, I have some PC games that I want to light certain buttons or trackballs for.

I run Mala with the LEDBlinky plugin for my MAME needs, but really have no need to set up PC games as an “emulator” in Mala.  Maybe I am just lazy………..

So is there any way, from the Windows XP desktop, to launch a game, but instead have it launch a .bat file that would send a commandline to LEDBlinky first, light the appropriate buttons/trackballs, then run the game??

Please keep in mind that I have three LEDWiz’s, so the solution has to support that.  I can easily go into Randy T’s “LumeAura” program, light certain things, then exit, but last I used it it only supported one LEDWiz.

Anybody got a commandline solution?  Does LEDBlinky already support this and I am just stupid?  What would the commandline syntax look like?

Please help!

Yes, LEDBlinky has a command line mode - check the readme.txt or help doc for a list of commands. But basically, you'll need to set up the profile for "other emulators", then just use this command:

  LEDBlinky.exe "name" "pcgame"

The parameters "name" and "pcgame" don't really matter unless you're going to define different layouts for different games.

As for "and I am just stupid?" - not for me to say  ;D

Post back if you have any questions.
