Title: Is it possible to do this with MALA?
Post by: CyrusMzRG on February 06, 2007, 10:31:11 am
Hi folks, I decided create several WAV's which says for example... " Mame GAMES" "Snes GAMES". I would like to know if there is any way for each time I select any mala layout  it plays automatically  that wav. Each wav for its layout...

MAME Games------- for mame layout
Snes Games--------for snes layout

thank you

Cyrus

Yes...  with a plugin written.   ;) You could ask someone to write it for you I guess. Pretty straight forward.

Without a plug-in you can have MaLa play a way when you change lists. But not a diffent one

Cyrus

OK  ;)

Try this:

http://mala.arcadezentrum.com/plugins.html#EmuWave (http://mala.arcadezentrum.com/plugins.html#EmuWave)

This plug-in will play a wave when a emulator is selected.

usage:

1) put the emuwave.mplugin file in the mala\plugins folder

2) copy the wavs you need into the mala\plugins folder

3) run mala

4) enjoy

Note:
This will only work if:
1) The wav has the EXACT name as the emu as displayed on the MaLa layout (case sensitive).
2) The wav files are found in the mala/plugin folder

Enjoy

Hi Loadman, I increased the volumen of the wav till 400% and their sound into mala is still very very low. Are there any way to increase this volumen from your pluging setting it higher than background music??

On the other hand I cannot set the MAME wav with your pluging

thank you

* I had not used it with BG music..  It is a bit low.  The wavs and the BG music get played via the same volume control. The only option I can think of for you at the moment is put the wav into a Audio Editor a maximise it volume there (not to the point of distortion of course) you may have some room to play with

On the other hand I cannot set the MAME wav with your pluging

* As I say in my docs you need to have the wav name the same as the layout is displayed. In the case of mame you change that on the screen attached. Probably best to remove (.) dots too
