Aw, man, if you're going to go through the trouble of using an original board, you should try to use an original monitor as well.

Having said that, I'm not sure if those will work. I could swear those have been posted here before, and somebody said that they didn't work as easily as we thought they did.

I think these are supposed to work OK, but add about a frame of lag.

There really isn't a good product out there for this though. I remember that CraftyMech was working on a CGA to VGA converter with built in scanline generation, but I don't think anything ever came of it.

I tried one of those with a Centipede pcb. The lag was horrible.

@abispac, did you see this at the bottom of the listing..?

*Please note that this board does not convert frequencies.  Regular PC LCD monitors won't work.  Please use open frame LCD screen designed for gaming.

If that's the case, I don't think he really has any good options.

Probably have to use a PC and MAME.

Yep. That's why I recommended a CRT.

I think you'd be taking your chances. Most of these types of boards are reported to not work very well with older, non-JAMMA stuff.

You should just buy one though, it's only $22. If it doesn't work, sell it here for $10.

Yeah, the choice of original board and VGA LCD is a bit baffling to me. Better off using MAME.

It's not like he's losing anything using MAME, the emulator for Pacman has been perfect for a long time.

Right. That's why wanting to use an original board with an LCD is a bit  uninspired.

If it were going on route, I would be all for original board and LCD (but a real arcade LCD that supports CGA), but an original board with a VGA LCD is completely counter-intuitive to me. Did he mention if he is going original power supply too? Doesn't it use crazy AC voltages?

Way too much pain to half-ass the part of the game that you look at.

all i wanted it to have was a bartop with anoriginal board, but it looks like its too much so ill keep it emulation style, and i will buy a board to build  or restore a pacman cab. thanks for everyone feedback.

I feel weird for suggesting it, but just get a 60 in 1 and an LCD
