Title: Any issue Hooking two players one coinmeck?
Post by: Locke141 on March 11, 2016, 10:07:45 pm
I'm using a two player XXX in-one board in my DD marquee Cade build (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,149284.0.html). The kit came with one coinmeck and I was planing on having both players wired to it as it's there mostly for looks and the games will usually be set to free play.

Is this a bad idea? Would it work with both players?

Many games have a separate mech for each player.

Sorry I should have been more clear. Could I just have the p1 & p2 coin lines wired to the same meck. I.e. One coin give one cridit to both players at the same time.

1 coin = 1 player
2 coin = 2 player

1 coin = 2 players ?

or are u doing it
1 coin = x or xx numbers of players.? chose ?

yes you can but really don't need to. Just have one wire (coin 5) line going to the coinswitch/mech. You can configure MAME giving credits to both/more players.

Set MAME
Coin P1 = 5
Coin P2 = 5
Coin P3 = 5
Coin P4 = 5

etc...

Thanks guys,

It's a XXX in-one build that I'm making as a gift for a friend. So simple is better.

He isn't using mame.

If you wire one mech to credit both players then that makes tons of games unplayable in single player mode as some games autostart the second player if it has credits. Either stick it on free play and don't wire any mechs or wire them both, don't wire just one of them.
