Doesn't make sense to case up a PC if you are putting it in a cab. For those that have a discreet card attached to your de-cased PC in your cab, how are you securing your graphics card?
Pics please.

I've used the mobo tray and backplane of an old ATX case in the past. Had to do a little cutting.

Let me tell you how all the companies that manufacturer PC based arcade games have solved that problem.
They leave the computer in the case because it doesn't make any sense to take it out.

But for those of us with the testicular fortitude to do it, a custom plate and a large zip tie work just fine...

They also have custom cases with tamper-proofing. The topic involves MAME; we aren't talking about a big budget commercial production run here. Leaving it in the case opens other issues and considerations: cost, securing it down, room in the cab, etc.

Thanks! Hoping to avoid the cost of buying a case though. Would be a terrible sacrifice of even a $20 ATX case :-\.

Any sway of the card in that setup?

Not once it's set up and locked down. I've moved the cab from room to room and even on it's sides and back to recut the t-molding slots, and I had no issues with it shifting or coming loose.

Very interesting brutha. I'll have to rig something off the mobo screw holes to fasten the zips to make it work for me. Thanks for the slice of swift ingenuity.
More solution pics please!

I got the long zip ties at Home Depot. Totally worth it.

In bartops and other tight spaces where I decased, I've used hot glue and it works fine.

here is what i've done long ago.
Drill a hole on the bottom of the video card
use a wooden board for installing all parts (PS, MOBO, HD etc..)
screw the video card into the wood.

Thenasty, that is the cheapest solution yet! How did you get the flange to go upside down :). I suppose I can drill a hole into the flange on the other end.

Hey! Hotglue is cheap too. :)

LoLoL!

Yup me too. Drilled out some rivets. But I also bought a drawer one time from microcenter. Kind of a caseless case.

Wow ! !good eye, been so long I totally forgot that part.
I believe I change the original with some other video cards flange and I flatten out the top of it to extend it to reach the board.
Hopefully this gives you the picture of what i did.

I like the zip tie and custom plate! Great idea.
