I'm a real newbie at artwork so this is just my opinion. Is there a way to connect the side, cp and marquee artwork so it follows a theme? Which do you like best CP - Pac man theme, side artwork...?
Try to create the art so side, cp and marquee have a common theme.

Thanks for that.  The trouble is I like all three of them so that is why I was thinking of going with no theme just what I like.

What you put on your artwork is totally up to you, I'm more into simple designs but yours feel nice. I love the CP with as I think one ghost for single player and two ghosts for two player game?
I'm only worried about the quality of the pictures you use. I don't know how good the images are you have, but the links you share are not even close to what you need to print them in full size. And take in mind that upscaling is no option. You need a hires image to start with. 200 dpi is good resolution to use, its nice when printed on industrial inkjet printers and the file size is manageable.

I'm not crazy about the collage-o-characters approach to cabinet art. But if you are set on that, then make them all look like were drawn together. On your side art, the style of the bottom section doesn't match the top characters.

I made quick effort on your CP.  But the ghosts need some attention.

What do you think of this side art. If you like I can help you adjusting it to your dimensions.

That squished control panel looks horrible. Troof.

The images are all cluttered, and over and above that the resolutions seem off.
Everything looks kinda muddled and pixelated.

I'd say refine your design, clean it up...less is more !

Or just hire someone like Mike Boss to help you.  Art is just as important of an expense as the PC or controls you put into the cabinet.

Keep characters off the CP. You'll inevitably end up with a joystick coming out of Ryu's crotch.

You say that like it's a bad thing?

Friends warn friends about possible crotch-sticks, Joynicorns (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,129794.msg1327821.html#msg1327821), and face-covering buttons.

Those are great  they would look great on my blue bartop  here are my measurements for control pannel, side and marquee.  if you do not mind helping me out as I am not that great at doing that sort of stuff  the pac man image I used was not that great quality but all I could find.

And I think simple will look good.

just did this quick but the measurements are correct.  The curve is not right shape but measurement is right size.

I'd like to share your marquee on libretro forum as part of an overlay. Is that ok?
