Is there any way to utilise command.dat in Mame64?
I came across this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xJ5MzwSPip8 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xJ5MzwSPip8) and they use MamePlus (i think), but i'm using Mame64 (no-intro / high score) with Hyperspin.... I'd love to get the functionality but at the same time don't want to break my setup!

I'm not sure Mame64 can do what you want.
The most popular MAME derivatives that support Command.dat include the following:
MAME Plus!
MAME Plus! UI
MAME Plus! eXTended
MAME Plus! Plus Kaillera
MEWUI
M+GUI
ShmupMAME
ShmupMAME UI
ShmupMAME+GUI
I'm running MamePlus! and really like it. If this feature is important (and I can easily see how it would be), you might consider switching to MAME Plus!

I haven't used it, but CP Wizard can also display command.dat info

I believe it can work alongside a front-end.

Does Mame Plus work with all the same Roms etc as vanilla mame? Is it also possible to disable nag screens and enable hi score support with it?
Thanks

Oh - that looks really promising... will need to experiment i think (and I'm still in setup phase so maybe that can come later!!)

I don't know about you, but I'd rather use CP Wizard (accessible through the Pause menu). I don't want anyone mucking around with the TAB button and screwing up other stuff.

That does sound better... is there a good guide on setting it up for visibility in pause?

Seems simple enough.
