I ran this the last few years and Chad ran it the first few years. I was going to post it later in August, but I'm bored at work today and may not have time next week to do it.
Rules are simple. Choose one game each week. Pick the winner. If you are wrong you are eliminated from the game. Last man standing wins. I will keep track of everyone's picks each week and display them by editing this post.
When making a pick, highlight it in the post, so that they're easier to pick out. I don't want to miss anyone's pick. If you don't know how to highlight it, copy somebody else's pick and change the color name if you want.
A pick must be made every week. Failure to make a pick results in elimination. Picks should be posted in this thread so that people have the ability to double check my work.
You cannot pick a game with the same team two weeks in a row. If you pick the Rams over the Titans in week 2, you cannot use either the Rams game or the Titans game in week 3. Having everyone help with this will eliminate the possibility of a mistake on my end on this item. You can pick a team multiple times over the season.
Entrant pool closes an hour preceding the game you want to pick. That means that if you want to pick Thursday's game this week you must do so at least an hour before the game starts. Forum timestamps will be binding.
Good luck to all. As always my goal is to make it out of Week 1 this year. And the winner does receive forum rep points.

Good luck this season bitches.

Is this going to be another one of those years where the Cowboys start off terrible out of the gate, pull a few out of their ass, get me all excited, slime their way into the playoffs and then Romo chokes again? Preseason performance thus far indicates Yes.

Why would this be different than any other year?
Your saving grace is that the NFC East sucks. You should win that division easily.

Your saving grace is that the NFC East sucks. You should win that division easily.
Half of the NFC East Sucks aka the Giants and the Redskins. That being said, I have no faith in the Eagles only because I dont even know who ---smurfing--- plays for them anymore.
The NFC South was the super ---smurfy--- division last year with NO team having a winning record.
-
I have no faith in the Eagles only because I dont even know who ---smurfing--- plays for them anymore.
Never heard of Timothy Richard Tebow?

I know they have like 5 quarterbacks including Bradford, Sanchez, and Tebow. I think Kelly got Tebow to turn him into a running back if he even makes the cut.

Bump for anyone else that wants in. I'll PM the past winners too.

Green Bay defeats Chicago
Nice to see the Cowboys occasionally acting like they remembered how to play football last night. Between 30 second skip on my DVR and the ipad in my hand it's going to take a lot to get me engaged this year....

I feel bad saying this.

I just threw up a little bit in my mouth
All the games week 1 feel like they could go either way. Good luck everyone.

You obviously didn't attend Bears training camp, read any news about the horrendous defense, lack of healthy WRs, or anything. Bartt Star could start for the Packers and still win that game. ---daisies---.
I'll update the OP when I get time. Plenty of time for anyone else to get in. The more the merrier.
-
Week 1 Green Bay over Chicago
-
Week 1 SeaHawks defeat Rams
-
Week 1 Panthers defeat Jaguars
And damn, I really hate week 1. Scared to pick any game.
-
OP updated. Remember that you still have time to enter. Games "lock" right before kickoff of that game so anyone who forgets to post a pick can still select a team for the MNF games too. Welcome to the new participants also.
Vigo - Surprised you didn't pick GB over Bears.
I'd worry about the Carolina pick over anyone right now. I think Jax will be better and Carolina is in trouble without having any WRs for Cam.

My Falcons are going to shock the world baby....

This thread is evil.

My pick won (Carolina over J'ville), my team won (Arizona over Dem Saints), and Game Night last night was a success. Too bad Mrs. Yotsuya was "too tired" last night, or this would have been a great weekend!

Week 1 and I am out. I hate the Seahawks. Lost my work fantasy team as well. Guess who my QB is? This miserable POS.
Next week Seattles play the Packers. I am guessing they will remember that they are a talented team again just to spite me.
Hoopz, the Bears looked pretty good yesterday. Yeah, Cutler still Cutlered, but they don't look as much like the 2014 Bears as I was expecting.

The Packers are going to want payback, and they're playing in GB. I might make that my pick next week....

To paraphrase Newbomb Turk---I'm glad I lost. The Seahawks being 0-1 was worth it.

Yeah, all you need is one of your wife's coworkers to punch you in the face if you want to be surprised with that thing she normally refuses to do. Decide if whatever you're into is worth it, bro.
Had to love ESPN deciding the Aggie game was so non-competitive that they needed to air LSU vs Mississippi State on two different channels.
Also loved the "don't turn that dial, folks, this game isn't over!" BS during the Texans game.
Broncos game was entertaining.
Old Man Romo and Old Man Whitten pull another one out of their ass in the 4th quarter. That game was one of the ugliest season openers I've seen. And proof positive that numbers lie when it comes to quarterback ratings.
-
WTF is up with the Colts OL and Defense???? Nice to Know my Falcons aren't the only team with OL issues.
Gotta love it when Percy Harvin and Tom Brady were both on my teams bench this week...
Now I have far too much riding on the Falcons toning, Julio and they two Matty Ices have to get me 61 points tonight, Plus the Falcons gotta win for me to stay in this contest.... It could get ugly for me real quick tonight.
-

When the Giants went for the FG (the safe thing) instead of going for it on 4th, I knew they would give up the TD and lose. You go for it on 4th and don't get it, Arlington still has to go 75 yards just for a FG and 99 for a TD. They deserved to lose.
-
Apparently I'm in minority opinion in that I don't think that was a terrible play call. Giants field goal forced Dallas to go for a touchdown.
-
To paraphrase Newbomb Turk---I'm glad I lost. The Seahawks being 0-1 was worth it.
 You are right. Defeat doesn't get much sweeter.
You can cheer for the Pack next week if you want an 0-2 on Seattle's record. :P
-
Apparently I'm in minority opinion in that I don't think that was a terrible play call. Giants field goal forced Dallas to go for a touchdown.
Yeah, but they only had to go 3/4ths of the field to get it (since it got returned to the 28) and they still had a full minute and a half to do so. If they Giants don't get the TD, Dallas gets the ball back on the one with way less time to get downfield, plus you have Romo pinned in the endzone.
-
Hoopz, the Bears looked pretty good yesterday. Yeah, Cutler still Cutlered, but they don't look as much like the 2014 Bears as I was expecting.
I was quite surprised but happy to see such an emphasis on the run game. We'll see how they respond this week v. the Cardinals. I doubt that the Bears def can stop anyone right now.
And I gotta root for Seattle next week. Sorry Vigo. I was pulling for them over NE in the SB. Lesser of two evils.
-

Oh man that is painful. I'm not sure I could root for the Packers if they were playing the St. Louis Cardinals.
-
Apparently I'm in minority opinion in that I don't think that was a terrible play call. Giants field goal forced Dallas to go for a touchdown.
The play before that is what cost them -- If he had just taken the sack that would have taken 35 seconds off the game clock and Dallas would not have had the time to go down the field the way they did - then kicking the field goal would have made more sense but when they threw the third down ball away and left the time on the clock it would have made more sense to go for the TD rather than kick the field goal -- figure worse case they don't get it and then Dallas has to go down the entire field and probably run out of time and lose or get a field goal attempt and tie it rather than the TD and the game goes to OT.
By throwing the third down ball out of the end zone rather than taking the sack and then following up by kicking the Field goal they take out the Tie option so Dallas has to go for the goal line pass play rather than tie it with a field goal and leaves them a couple extra downs with those 35 seconds. Just bad clock management and decisions that wound up costing them the game.
-
Yeah, I get it, but pulling a touchdown out of his ass when Dallas is stuck at the 1 yard line is probably the only thing Romo is good at. Not letting the clock run down was a mistake, field goal meh. That's a hindsight 20/20 thing nobody would even think about had they won.
-
That's alright, without Murray, Romo's going to have to throw the ball 45 times a game again, and you all know Romo's Gotta Romo eventually.
-
It would be awesome if you'd just let me have this. Thanks.
-

No glow = doesn't count
Deadspin published not one but two articles today about how the Cowboys didn't deserve it. Would kill y'all to let me enjoy this, apparently.

Eagles didn't deserve to win that game. Some questionable play calling at the end too.
Good luck the rest of the way Harvey!

At this rate round 2 will be in week 4
And Round 3 a few weeks later. Week 2 games aren't easy either. Not one home team is a lock.
Week 2 - Steelers over Niners.
Glad you got in, Andy. And you're out. :dizzy:

Wow, there are a lot of tough calls this week
Week 2 Miami over Jacksonville

Week 2 - Saints over Bucs.

No one else gets to pick Saints over Buccs.
This is why we need to add the rule "you can only pick a team to win once per season" and remove the "cant pick a game involving the same team 2 consecutive weeks"
-
Rules rules rules. More rules. You men are all the same.
Does make me ponder changing my pick. If the Buccs pull one out of their ass Round 1 is pretty much over.
-
It's only week 2.
...and just imagine the chaos if the bucs win.

This is why we need to add the rule "you can only pick a team to win once per season" and remove the "cant pick a game involving the same team 2 consecutive weeks"
This is how it should be. It should just go on the honor system so Hoopz isn't stuck having to manage it.
-

Add a rule, and remove a rule, the number of rules stays the same
I thought we had the "same team 2 consecutive weeks" rule in place.
We do, but if you can only pick a team one time all season, it can get the axe like PBJ's tact.
-
Week 2 KC defeats Denver
-
We do, but if you can only pick a team one time all season, it can get the axe like PBJ's tact.
meh, that's how it works everywhere else.
I liked that the BYOAC one was different, despite the fact that I'm always out in week one or two anyway.
-
Picking a team only once would seriously challenge my memory.
Of course if I keep getting axed in week 1, then not much memory is required.
-
One reason we go with the "can't pick the same team two weeks in a row rule" instead of the other is that it's hard enough to watch for the same team two weeks let alone trying to track the other way. Someone brought it up four or five years ago and suggested we use a FF site to track it. I think the benefit of staying on BYOAC is that people don't have to go to another site to get involved and we may pick up some newbs for rounds 2 and 3. Plus, EE is dead compared to years ago and we could use more nonsense threads here.
I don't trust Brees this year, despite having two of his WRs on a couple FF teams. So I'm not picking them much this year.
-
I just think it sucks when people just pick the patriots every other week.

Well they may have been cheating before they started winning. Chad didn't start cheering for them until they started winning.
Maybe it took them a bit until they started cheating well. :dunno
-
I just think it sucks when people just pick the patriots every other week.
Has this been a problem in the past? I never really noticed it and your proposal will hopelessly complicate this.
No need to invoke Chad and his vivid fantasy life in this thread, kthx.
-
More than once people just flipflopped between the 2 undefeated teams. It was rampant the year the pats went undefeated in the regular season and ultimately lost the super bowl to the Giants.
I don't see how making sure someone doesn't pick the same team twice is any more complex than making sure they don't pick a team involved in back to back games. I digress, the rules aint gonna change and Im out week 1 for the first time ( usually get bounced week 2 lol)
-
meh, picked the Patriots over the Dolphins the first game of last year and that didn't go so well for me.
I had no intention of picking them all season. I start with the bad teams and see who they're playing.
Perhaps I should stop doing that for the first game.
-

Did anyone else watch the fox pregame stuff last sunday? It was nothing but an hour long apology to Tom Brady and the Patriots for ever calling them cheaters.
although I did enjoy the cameo from Carl Winslow.

I wouldn't watch Fox to save my life. And CBS's coverage is worse. ESPN's makes me want to vomit. Michael Irvin can't shut up but Marshal Faulk is a great analyst. I'm sticking with the NFL Networks coverage.
Any my six year olds who don't watch football ask me every few days "What's the name of that team that cheats?" Lately, I say the Patriots but I've been known to throw the Pack out there too. >:D
-
Jon Gruden is easily the worst football announcer Ive ever heard in my life. All he does is suck the dick of whoever made the last play.

Cris Collinsworth has always driven me nuts, personally. Phil Simms is always guaranteed to get my dad berserk. Guess we all got our pet peeves.
-
Cris Collinsworth has always driven me nuts, personally. Phil Simms is always guaranteed to get my dad berserk. Guess we all got our pet peeves.
Cris Collinsworth is a close second. Id rather hear Phil Simms over Lou Holtz though
-
in Collinsworth's defense, he has improved. Still terrible, but I remember those first years were just brutal. Everything that came out of his mouth was on the level of the drunk guy at buffalo wild wings who is cheering for the losing team...on the game that nobody else is watching.
-
Well, as someone that's rewatched the glorious 4th quarter of that Cowboys-Giants game a couple of times, it's always 'amusing' to listen to Collinsworth flip flop on who's the better team and act like that's been his position the entire game.
The issue with Phil Simms, if I can recall the rants correctly, won a Super Bowl and got kicked off his team, got his son the starting quarterback position on a college team over a better alternative, and says ridiculous things along the lines of, "he dropped that pass because the second knuckle on his left ring finger wasn't properly flexed, a mistake I never would have made." I just try to keep my head down and my mouth shut.
Someday... maybe... we'll get the stadium announcer only feed on a TV game...
-

I wish I could figure out an easy way to sync a radio broadcast with the tv. Before the tv delay got so bad, I would do that quite a bit.

There's apps for that, bro. Those are specifically broken out for Phil Simms days.

Good to know. Thanks for the heads up!

Nothing's worse than Troy Aikman calling a Cowboys game.

Nothing's worse than Troy Aikman calling a Cowboys game.
Why's that? He used to be pissed that Romo was getting so much attention, but now he seems to revel in the chokes. So I'm with him there.
-
He actually got pissed at more than a few QB's that got attention. He's mellowed, but I remember that distinct attitude from him that he is the guy with the rings and that is all that counted.
-
I agree with everyone that those color guys are awful but I hate Nantz more than all those guys combined. I'd much rather listen to the guys like Ian Eagle that only do regional games. At least they know that they aren't covering the Paris Peace Talks and generally leave the schtick to the big name morons. They try harder and generally want to be good.
-
He actually got pissed at more than a few QB's that got attention. He's mellowed, but I remember that distinct attitude from him that he is the guy with the rings and that is all that counted.
Ah... I'm really only paying attention during Cowboys games. If I have another game turned on and the crowd noise gets intense enough I might quit jerking off and look up from my iPad for just long enough to see the guy run into the end zone.
Aikman's inspires all kinds of weird reactions out of people. I've heard things like,
"I don't care that he's gay."
"He's out of it most of the time."
"He gives nuanced and insightful commentary."
"He wishes he could get back in the game."
I'll say this for him. He'd take the hit if it meant completing the pass. And that pass went where it was supposed, even if the receiver didn't. I still call him Robo-Throw to irritate people.
-

Sorry, Bears fans, I was in the stands for the Dennis Green "they are who we thought they were" Monday Night Football game, so I take a perverse joy in seeing the Cardinals stomp the Bears.

I watched that clip of Dennis Green just a few days ago. AND WE LET EM OFF THE HOOK!
For some unknown reason, I stayed up and watched that entire game. For 3 1/2 quarters, the Cards looked unstoppable. Grossman was awful.
And then it was 7 minutes of heavenly bliss. Like having sex twice but without the Hostess Crumb Cake in between.

And I thought my Falcons were the kings of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. . .

I must confess I don't understand that last sentence but I laughed out loud and had to quickly make up an excuse when my family wanted to know what was so funny.

Damn, son, if you don't have to cover up the reload period with "I'll go get us a snack and a towel" then I want to know whatever you're doing to maintain second round steel at your advanced age.

I usually just grab myself a bowl of fruity pebbles and call it a night. That big fruity taste packing into every satisfying bite of Fruity Pebbles is my second round.

You have to google the proper spelling of coital?

I use chrome. There was no red squiggle under the word so I called it good.

Most teams are toast if their starter goes down. If Brady goes down, you think the Pats are going to still roll? Look at the Bears... oh, wait... >:D

Oh, BTW, Drew Stanton is a very capable backup. Our problem last year was that our starter AND our backup went down. :hissy:

Clausen didn't throw any picks or fumble yesterday. Of course, I started the Seattle def in one league so not only did my favorite NFL team lose, they couldn't even throw me a bone with a few pick sixes.

Another audio option is firing up a radio station in Tune In on your smart phone and then strategically pausing the TV until you get it synced. That's how I got rid of the anti-A&M commentators on ESPN Saturday.
Cowboys 5-11 season coming right up.

Two pick-sixes, a safety, 4 interceptions and only giving up 7 points got me 30 points from the Cardinals Defense yesterday.

Wouldn't that be awesome if something the trip to the future got right? Cause I don't see my self-tying laces and hoverboard anywhere around me.

It will be awesome if they win. This surprise of a season has been worth it in of itself. Helps a little with this turd of a season the Bears are dropping.
While it will be really cool if the BTTF prediction comes through my 1989 self would have been VERY depressed to know that the Cubs didn't even come close in the next 25 years. :badmood:

Been kind of interesting listening to the arguments against the rule that says it's a turnover if you fumble in the end zone and it bounces out of bounds.
I don't have any particular problem with that rule, I think it ups the intensity, but those sports talk guys sure like griping for the sake of griping.

The whole batted ball thing is stupid. Ball was going out anyway, and if he would have just grabbed it and took a knee it would have been a touch back. Now you know why I'm starting to hate the NFL. Also, cowboys should have beat the packers in the play offs last year. That was a catch.

He clearly batted the ball out of bounds though. Rules are rules.
-
I have to admit I'm not real keen on "interpreting intent" rules. Does kind of crack me up that in 2015 and in the age of ubiquitous GPS we're still allowing refs and the guys with the chains to use their best judgement on positioning. We've all seen some BS slanted jogging out to the ball before, and it's annoying even when it benefits your team.
And, yeah, that "did he make a football move" thing was ridiculous but the Cowboys had benefited from a BS call the week before that. Taketh and giveth away.
-
He clearly batted the ball out of bounds though. Rules are rules.
Meh, wasnt called gotta move on. If Megatron had better hands we wouldn't be having this talk. I have to agree 100% with PBJ up there. NFL makes billions a year, cant electronically track the ball? Hell Fox put a chip in the puck for NHL broadcasts so you could see how fast shots were.

Perhaps you recall last year when the Stains Plane rolled into Hartsfield Jackson it was egged by an airport employee.

Bye Week Over Dallas Cowboys.
Heh. Man, you said it. This year I've more or less pivoted to college football, precisely at the moment that collarbone snapped.
We are in very strange times when TCU, Baylor, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma State are elite teams and OU and UT suck.
If A&M manages to beat Alabama this Saturday... mother of god things may get super cereal.

Gotcha. I figured as much but just checking. Proximity plus division rivals helps. Atl actually having a good team for the first time since Billy White Shoes Johnson played helps too.

Agreed. That series was horribly conservative.

Tip of the hat to the Colts for worst play in sports ever last night. Best part of an otherwise crappy sports weekend. Michigan's punt excluded. That was comedy gold also.

Well, A&M screwed the pooch with Alabama... but now University of Houston is in the top 25? We live in strange collegiate times, friends.

Does Chuck Pagano still have a job after today? That was one of the craziest things I've ever seen.
I initially typed "Da Bears are who we thought they were" when they gave up that TD with like 20 seconds left, then changed it to "Da Lions" when they gave up that tying FG. Then James Brown came on the air and said NFL rules prevented them from showing us overtime, so I figured at that point you could crown both of their asses.
-

Pagano and the GM reportedly have been at odds for a year or more. And Pagano isn't under contract after this season. That play last night isn't going to help.

Facts is facts, bro. Instead of signing and defending Greg Hardy, maybe Jerry should try to talk Aikman out of retirement.
I've heard enough ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- talked by Arlington fans over the years, so yeah, I am going to kick them when they're down.

And last year we had a playoff game taken away because catching a pass and running three paces was not a "football move." It happens.

Considering a bad call worked in your favor the week before and screwed the Lions, karma was being particularly bitchy towards Arlington against the Packers.

---That which is odiferous and causeth plants to grow---! The Lions never get screwed. That's karma coming back to them for being the worst franchise in sports. I hope they never win another game in the history of that sad, pathetic franchise.

Tell us how you really feel Hoopz....
Jim, the Cowboys are still in it with that garbage division. Similar situation with ATL last year. Romo will be back eventually.
-
They are the only NFL team that was around before the merger/Super Bowl started that has never played in it. They had one of the top 3 backs in NFL history who decided to retire than play for them anymore. They never did anything to help him and everything he achieved was despite the team, coaches, and organization not because of it. F the Lions.
Though Matt Millen was perfect for them. No team ever deserved that man more than they did.

I haven't really heard anything but the marketing powers that be have been shoving him down our throats HARD this season. I haven't seen anything like this since the Michael Jordan commercial breaks in the 90s. Trucks, groceries, soda, aluminum siding. One after the other. I think that Hard Knocks show has been playing up this "he works out 20 hours a day, 365 days a year" stuff a little too much.

Deleted because I picked the Cardinals for 2 weeks in a row. :(
Damn, now I have to come up with someone else.

Week 8?: Seahawks defeat Cowboys
I'm actually rooting for Arlington in this game, but when either team loses, I win.

What's with all these Arlington comments? Is that some new dig I'm unaware of? Granted I haven't spent much time in flyover states, but I know that the scale of never-ending cities in Texas can be intimidating to some. What anyone would reasonably call Houston is a good 100 miles wide these days.

I was planning on taking the Pats but may as well make it interesting since they are already taken twice.
Week 9 GB over Car
-
I think at this point we should all pick different games. Picking early gets you the benefit of first choice but the risk of an injury later in the week derailing your pick.

It's not even fun ---smurfing--- around with you and the Cowboys anymore. I feel sorry you now, bro.
-
Cowboys are snakebit... bad karma for signing Greg Hardy I guess :-[

Week 10
Broncos over Chiefs
-
Screw this year. My fantasy team just got beat by a team starting two players who were on a bye. The Falcons are pulling their 2005 get your hopes up then take a dump on your spirit and people are acting like Cam Newton is good.
I am rooting for Yot's Cardinals from here on out.

You're not a fan of the Lions or Browns so calm down. ;)
We'll see what happens when the Cards visit Seattle this week. That should be fun.
-
True and as it turns out I ended up winning fantasy last night on your boy Langford's performance.

If you ---smurfing--- jinx my team I will kick your ass at ZapCon.

:applaud:
Forte won't be back next year. Turning 30, not signed, and that kid playing well sealed the deal.

Week 10: Packers over Lions
-
Some more good games this week. Rex and Jets tonight and Pats/Giants this weekend. Hopefully, Brady throws for 10 TDs.
I could, almost, kinda root for Detroit this week.

Week 10:
Markrvp: Cincinnati Bengals def Houston Texans

Matt Cassell, Brandon Weeden.... it makes no difference...

Dez Bryant should run his mouth less and catch the ball more.

Just hope you don't get Arts & Crafts Tony Romo next week...
-
They should leave Romo out so we can lose out and get a high draft pick

Cards win! Victory beverage time! (http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/11/15/2087cdd455a508a5c9c4c773fe8c107a.jpg)

That stuff is over 200 calories a bottle and not very strong. Better off tossing a shot of vodak into an IBC, frankly.

I don't drink to get drunk, bruh.

Trying to save you some money and calories. The quantity you consume is your own business.

I know they are heavily drinking in Big D right now, but I like the taste of that stuff. If Dallas loses to the Dolphins with Romo at QB, I'll send you some vodka and IBC.
-
INCONCEIVABLE!!! All three of us remaining lost this week picking different games. Do all three of us pick again?
-
Yep, we pick again. Kier and I were rooting for the Texans last night. ;D
-
Week 11 - Panthers over Washington
-
So the Cards won at Seattle and Yots is happy, the Bears won so wp34 and I are both happy but somewhat concerned that the Bears will draft 12-15 now next year, and the Boys lost and Jimmy is despondent. Atl didn't lose so Harvey's happy. Anyone else?
-
Week 11
Markrvp - Seattle Seahawks def San Francisco 49ers
-
Week 11:
Well I was going to go Seahawks as well, but in the vein of picking different teams I am going:
Cardinals defeat Bengals
Sorry guys, not letting me glow
-
The high school I work at is in the Arizona State Division II finals next Friday, Arizona State kicked the ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- out of their rival University of Arizona, and the Cardinals are 3-0 in prime time games. Victory brew!
-
Oklahoma State and University of Houston both took a ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- so that's the end of that.
Dallas Cowboys continue to play with my emotions by eeking out a victory. Houston opted to show infomercials and stupid movies rather than the Cowboys game, so we went and saw the Hunger Games movie (meh) and finished off the 4th quarter on my ipad. Have to laugh that now I'm the "hey, I heard you might have a stream to that Cowboys game..." recipient of random texts now.
-
I knew this was 2005 all over again...
Screw the NFL.

Houston couldn't show the Cowboys game because they were showing the Texans on CBS. Fox couldn't run another game since Houston was playing at home.
-
Ah, okay. Another screen in the theater was showing the game and people sounded happy while I was making my trips to the mens room to recycle Karbach.
-
Week 12 picks, anyone feeling ballsy and wanting to pick from the bad games such as Ravens/Browns, Saints/Texans, Chargers/Jags?

Sure.
Saints over Texans
-
Well, hopefully that's the end of Romo. $5 says they pick up Manziel. Dallas ought to be an.... Inspired? choice for an alcoholic
-
Maybe Arts and Crafts Tony Romo can start next week...

Put the root beer down.
-
Didn't drink one. As much as I dislike the 'Boys, I don't celebrate injuries.
-
Yeah, but this one may be a blessing in disguise. Ideally, he'll heal up okay, cite this injury as the reason to retire, and walk away with his brain intact. Maybe that left arm will ache on a cold day but he will always have the fond memories of those two playoff victories.
I think Aikman is more lucid than people joke about, but I'm doubtful he's going to make it to 60 with his wits.
-
My brother-in-law, who came over yesterday for Thanksgiving and is a Cowboys fan, really wants them to go after Matthew Stafford this off season. I read an article that statistically, Stafford is Romo 2.0, so I don't know if that's a good thing or not.
-
At this point, I just want someone new so that I can be mad for different reasons. Sighing at interceptions is so five years ago.
-

True. Last week, Cowboys fans were like "Tony Romo IS BACK!". Yesterday, they were like "Yep, Tony Romo is back."
-

That's like trying to pick the stinkiest turd. Browns/Ravens has too many injuries to make an educated guess.
Markrvp picks: Kansas City Chiefs over Buffalo Bills
-
Week whatever - Browns over Ravens
It'll give me a reason to watch that.
Who am I kidding? I won't watch that turd of a game.
-
Since the Lions replaced their OC, Stafford's numbers have been impressive. Not enough for me to forget the crap that he's been throwing for years. He's had the benefit of having a great WR to help him out. I don't see the Lions dealing him though. Who do they have behind him? Orlovsky? Didn't he go WINLESS for them before and 1-15 with the Colts?
Actually, that'd make perfect sense for that franchise to make that move.
-
This is the way the pick em ends
Not with a bang but a whimper.
Congrats to MarkRVP for winning again!!
Note to self, don't PM him next year to join again.
-
Meh, all I can do is hope that the Cowboys have the sense to throw in the towel on the rest of the season and get the draft picks.
University of Houston made it to their conference championship, so I'm headed to that game on Saturday. If they win that, they ought to go to a good bowl game. Exciting times for that school in general lately.
-
Hooray! I had a lot of fun. I thought you were still in until the Browns went all "Browns" at the end last night.
-

I clearly should have known better. What a horrible franchise. Like the Cards but East of the Mississippi....
-
Maybe the Cardinals of the 20th century, but the Cardinals in this century have been pretty good.
-
Off topic, but this is Everything Else and my Cowboys season is over anyway.
University of Houston had their conference championship this morning. I was there. ;D
First we crash an alumni event and begin day drinking at 10am.

Yess... yess... play for your non-alumni...

There we are...

And, off to their first major bowl game since 1984...

Good job, Cowboys.
-
How bad is the NFC East?
With a record of 4-8, the Cowboys, a team that lost seven games in a row this season, are just one game out of first place in the NFC East.
Discuss.
-
They won't make the playoffs. If they do, they'll lose in the first round. Either way, they end with a middling record and get a middling draft pick. I'd be racing the Browns to the bottom of the heap if I was in charge. Run your 2nd and 3rd stringers and get them some field time. That's my take on the situation, anyway.
-

Nobody can beat the Browns at their own game. They are a factory of sadness.
-
Nothing is more frustrating that being a fan of a team with just enough talent to tease you into believing they have a chance to compete in the playoffs.
I echo Jim's wishes, I hope the Falcons lose out to try to get a better pick....
Also if some team could hire Kyle Shannahan as their head coach, that'd be great.
-
Playoffs? We're talking playoffs? Playoffs!
-
Teddy Bridgewater is a pretty classy dude, I like him and his skill set. Very articulate in his press conference tonight after a tough loss. Reassuring to know that the fact I hate freaking Cam Newton has nothing to do with what Bomanti Jones suggests it does.

The only team I can stomach winning is Arizona, I guess I'm okay with Manning winning one but ---fudgesicle--- the Broncos they ruined '98.
-
---fudgesicle--- the Broncos
I really don't want to see brady or manning win. Enough media lovefest over the years for those two.
-
Broncos pull one out of their ass.
Cmon, cardinals, shatter some Panther dreams.

I hate Cam Newton so much....
-
Someone start a 2016 chuff thread, I want to strut around about why I was listening to that Broncos game on AM radio.
And so sorry for your loss, Yotsuya.

2016 season checking in.
Here's a copy of the charts I work up and distribute to fans every year. Suitable for framing.

Amazingly, there appear to be no TV conflicts with the Texans this year.
