Title: problem with HD 3300 and HD 4850 Radeons
Post by: Ibaroh on January 22, 2014, 03:47:59 pm
Hello,

I have the problem to get only a useless scrooling picture with cards that actually should work (HD 3300 and HD 4850). Against that a X1050 Card works well.

I already tried many things like clean reinstall the drivers, change operating system, change minimum clock, change Monitor Presets and switch DVI ports but can't find a way to fix the problem.

My setup is a XP computer, VGA to SCART Adapter to a PAL Tube.

Maybe somebody has an idea?

Sorry for my bad english

Are you possibly using CRT Emudriver 9.3 for x64? If so, make sure to run vmmaker after installation.

I try the 9.3 32 and 64 version and run vmmaker. Also other methods like Soft-15KHz buts its alwas the same bad result.

Do you trust your VGA-SCART cable 100%? It looks like a problem with the sync signals (even if it does work for the X1050)

not 100% but it is a cable from a german arcade shop special for this purpose.
is there maybe a smart way to test it for errors without buying a new one?

edit: organised an other vgs/scart adapter for next week to test

Before ordering a new cable, maybe I'd check the signal on a PC monitor that has a good OSD, so it can report the output frequency.
