Title: Sanwa 29E31S Gradual Screen Swell
Post by: Jollywest on February 18, 2012, 03:11:52 am
Hi,

I've noticed a bit of an issue with the Sanwa 29E31S Arcade monitor I'm using. Its not a massive issue and everything else works great apart the screen size gradually gets bigger both vertically and horizontally. After about an hour the Windows taskbar has just about disappeared and its not just the screen position moving down its cropped on every side. Turning the monitor off and back on resets the screen to the correct size. Any ideas?

Thanks.

sounds capacitor related-most likely a couple of the 22uf 250v caps a bit leaky

Cheers Grant, I'll have a look at those caps.

Ok huge bump from the grave I know but I recently had a few other issues with this monitor so finally got round to doing a cap kit on it.
After replacing the caps all the more recent problems have been fixed, but the gradual screen swell issue is still there... again it’s not a massive problem but any idea what else it might be please?
I’m on the lookout for a remote board, just to rule out it isn’t causing the problem.

do you lose control of the pincushion?

I did have Pincushion issues before doing the cap kit, it’s fine now though

if the picture is not going super wide and loses pincushion control then it sounds like bad pot or bad connection on remote board
if it was doing both those things it would be flyback failing
