Hey bud, sorry for the late reply. I've been using the tool called SketchUp for the plans. It has a bit of a learning curve.
https://www.sketchup.com/en/plans-and-pricing/sketchup-free

They have a free online version that runs in your browser which I've linked above. You need to create an account through. However, they're last Windows version that was free is "Sketchup Make 2016" which is actually what I use. You'd have to find a download for it through. It might just be the 2016 pro version without a license code.

The cabinet is complete except for custom software that I've been slowly coding. I was hoping to have it done, but I'll work on posting pictures.

Building myself had saved me $1-2k versus buying one, and I have far better components inside as well as better material. I actually have a doc that has all of my costs which I can post as well. I'll work on getting final shots and posting here this weekend.

That's a great savings and probably the main reason I'm looking to build myself. Well that and in my early research based on comments here and other forums/ sites it became clear that there no perfect plug and play option so building your own at least ensures you understand how things work on the software side especially.

Thanks for sharing the software. I actually couldn't tell it was sketchup that you used which is awesome ! I used sketchup for some non arcade projects back in 2014, and I'm going to look into it. Also appreciate your willingness to share some updated pictures of the work in both the completed form and any of the other in-between/ process images. With what you previously have shared it looks awesome.   :applaud: :applaud: :applaud:

Hello - I've recently been tinkering with WinIPAC.exe to modify my MINIPAC controller. I seem to have messed something up because the trackball on my controller used to control the Windows mouse just fine, but now it only controls it left and right.

I was not intentionally touching these settings (was just changing some of the button mappings), and I don't see any obvious place to change this behavior in the GUI. In the attached image, these pins are labeled TB Y1 and TB Y2, however they are disabled so I don't think they come into play. Anything else I should be looking at to determine why my trackball only moves along one plane?

Hi,

Can someone please remind me what options in GM’s ini file need to be disabled for Gsync to work properly?

For whatever reason I’m not getting smooth scrolling anymore and I’m getting frame pacing issues. For Example when starting Altered Beast and the Sega Logo scrolls from the right of the screen to the center it’s jumpy.

Turns out both harneses are defective, using some arduino cables, the acceptors work fine.

hahahaha , well the weird part is, with a multimeter the harness looks ok, all colors and terminal match, but my guess is, that the inside pins of the harness, don't make good contact at all with the pins on the acceptor. But why does the acceptor turns on? And I tried multiple ways with different combinations. perhaps the type of copper or metal of that particular harness is not good for pulses? Can that be possible? the pulses not reaching out all the way to the encoder because of the metal type that wire uses that the pulses fade down? I also wonder if that was my problem to start with, and I didn't need to downgrade the firmware. Ill make a few more tests on the virtuo too see if that was the problem.

Can you try replacing libswitchres.dll from mednafen-1.31-emu4crt-A20e-win64?

Hi

I've been making control panels using Pi Pico as they are dirt cheep and programming through Circuit Python is easy.

I've had an original Tatio spinner lying around for years, and I've never got it to work - as I've discovered reading here, its an active high device and therefore I can't use it with the U-Hid that cam with my trackball, nor the trackball pins on my iPac2.

My thoughts have turned to the Pi Pico - and can I use it to interface the spinner without buying an Opti-pac? My gut says yes, but my head isn't there yet :)

Check your mamewah.log file.

Make certain the hard drive letters haven't changed. Three seconds sounds like enough time for screensaver or slideshow to kick in, maybe it is looking in the wrong locations for vids/snaps. When you quit, it could be looking at the wrong location to start explorer.exe

Is it logging onto the right user?

Check other settings in BIOS to see if it all seems appropriate (as it was wiped to default when the old battery died).

Hopefully the log file will shed some light.

It is not, before price gouging you could get a DE10 nano for educational purpose for $79.

Considering inflation during those years, I'd say that $99 is ok and maybe I'll get one, but I won't spend a single cent more on it.
Before there was no GroovyMiSTer  ;)
