Anyone need a skilled VB/NET/Hardware/GIS/Office developer?
drventure:
Thanks guys.
Yeah, GIS stuff is fun. I'm a bit of a map junkie anyway, so it fits in with that quite nicely.

A somewhat oversimplified way of describing it is that it's when you have maps with data associated with locations on the map. For example the maps in your GPS system have points of interest layers superimposed on the main map. Or a city government will have a map in which they can toggle various things on and off, like they can select a section of the city's sewer system and any house connected to that section will be shaded a particular color. Things like that.

I know what a GIS is.
I was asking Which GISs he has worked with.
ChadTower:
There are other GIS platforms... one of the things I deal with at work is the Gentran Integration Suite, for one...

Weird, I could have sworn I posted a response, but it looks like it didn't go through...
Anyway, I worked mostly with Pepperwhite street (Don't even think it's around anymore), Arcview, MapObjects and LeadTools.
Pepperwhite street for the presentation aspects (they could get the entire US streetmap into 550mb, which in 2000 or so was a pretty good trick), Arcview for gis data manipulation and cleanup, and leadtools to layer images (large scanned fema flood zone map images) over the digital maps for annotation and georeferencing.
Haven't had much exposure to the latest web mapping stuff (other than to play with the Google Maps Layers), but I'd love to have reason to :)

LOL . . . I totally read, "What is GIS?" I can't wait till finals are over and I can get some real sleep. :)
