Author Topic: Arcade cabinet, Golden Tee '99 running on 60" projection TV - Chicago (Read 4149 times)

Price dropped to $350!

Hey guys, I used to be a member of the site about 5 years ago where I learned everything I needed to know about building my own cabinet. I've now moved into a new home and don't have anywhere to put this, so the wife wants it out of the garage.

Anyhow, I've got a cabinet that I built out of MDF board that fits a 27" TV. It has Golden Tee '99 PCB's, all Happ (?) buttons, switches, joysticks, and a neon blue rollerball, power supply, and S-Video converter. After I got it up and running I happened into a 60" projection TV that I then hooked up and man, was it great! Anyhow, the cabinet is fully built, but the outside is unfinished, which means you can decorate it however you want it to look.

I'm located in Plainfield, IL, and don't have a way to deliver, so it will have to be pickup only...

Also included will be user manual for Golden Tee '99, marquis for Golden Tee '99 to install on the cabinet, light attachment to install under rollerball to make it "glow", any extra switches that I have, and the 60" Projection TV.

Asking $350 for everything...

While there's some kudos for attempting to build your own cab, it's perhaps necessary to point out that all that 'square-ness' of the cab will likely non-plus most folks.

The projection TV, on the other hand, especially if it has component input (and even more so if it happens to have a VGA input) simply needs a base and CP attached to or placed in front of it, and ya have yerself a 'showcase' cab!

The 27" TV that I have DOES take VGA input (used to be a display monitor outside of the office w/ powerpoint running on it from a PC) but the projection TV doesn't. It does take component in via BNC (is that right? not regular RGB like on the back of components now, but the thinner wire w/ the locks on the cables), RCA, and S-Video. Currently I use it w/ the RGB --> S-Video converter that I bought so you can take a standard JAMMA cable and plug it into anything w/ S-Video. Between that, the buttons, joysticks, rollerball and PCB's, someone could gut the cabinet, burn the wood for warmth and put all the components into their own cabinet to make a supercab!

Any takers?

Dude, BNC IS RGB. It's the original 'component' video. Component NTSC is for TVs. I'd maybe think about it if you were local. Really curious what scan range both monitors (as essentially that's what they are) are capable of. What models are they? You got any specs, manuals? Etc....

I don't have any docs on the 27" but if I remember right there was a model number on the video card in the back of the monitor where the VGA input is. I'll have to try and check it out tomorrow. I've got the manuals (Installation and User... so all functions to tweak every aspect available) for the projector. It's a Sony RVP-6010Q. Regarding the scan range... not exactly sure if this is it, but for RGB INput - Horizontal frequency: 15kHz - 93kHz and Vertical frequency: 38Hz - 150Hz. Resolution: 1400 x 1120 pixels (RGB input at fH: 69kHz, fV:60Hz). That the kinda info you were wondering?

$450... any takers? Between the 60" projection TV that takes component and S-Video and the 27" TV that accepts VGA, and all the components from the machine (power supply, joysticks, PCB's, S-Video converter, JAMMA cables, buttons, rollerball, etc.) this is a steal...

Yup, those are what I was able to find in the user manual that came w/ the unit. It used to be used for presentation purposes at a company...

Damn. If you were local, and if I could handle the screen size, I'd be all over it. I'd get rid of a prospective cab set-up or two for it, given that scan range. Probly a lot of money for many right now, but so worth it for a MAME cab.

I dont think your price is the issue you just have to find someone local that is interested with some extra cash to spend.

try listing it on craigslist & Klov if you have not done so already.

yeah I woudl take it in a instant but chicgo to far of a drive cost gets much larger st louis to chicago is no the longest but its long enough

Yeah, I agree that the price should be killer for just about anyone. Unfortunately it doesn't seem like anyone local is that interested in it, so I was hoping an even lower price would entice someone to take a roadtrip to get it...

2 years ago i took a round trip out to chicago to get faring set for my bike
about killed me and i woudl need ot rent a truck to get that thing home lol
